NFL ratings tank...

One big contradiction in the article. If people aren't going to games because they stay home to watch on TV, why are TV audience numbers down?

Finally, someone mentions the real reason ratings are down:  Aaron Rodgers.

In contrast to the NFL's ratings decline, we have Fox News...

What does this really tell us?

Rome made sure to have plenty of circuses to keep the people distracted from the destruction around them.

If it doesn't tell us anything why did Tarheel bring it up in the first place?

The protesting players are not clamoring for more for themselves. They are not enriched personally by the protest or the settlement. A player that makes lots of money as a NFL player but gives nothing back to the community could be considered a "spoiled brat" but protesting in a way that you do not deem appropriate does not fit that definition.

The NFL owes them nothing for injustices done by the NFL.  To the contrary, they are highly compensated disproportionately as a demographic compared to the U.S. population, yet Reid and others are upset for Jenkins making progress towards social injustice.  Why don't those still desiring to take a knee and protest name their demands?

The fact that the players are highly talented and compensated accordingly has no real baring on the issue other than that talent gives them the ability to call attention to an issue that is important to them.  The fact that they don't agree on what is a suitable solution doesn't make either of them wrong. Reid said the he and those who disagreed with the Players Coalition would continue to discuss with the NFL.

I will agree that both Jenkins and Reid would probably be best served by taking their disagreements behind closed doors.

This has NOTHING to do with the anthem protests...and pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.  ;)

Nobody is denying attendance is down as it has been the last five years. When an "news" organization such as Breitbart harps on it you really have to wonder. Notice in most pictures you can not see a game going on. They also have pictures of bad teams(Cleveland) or teams that have traditionally never filled their stadium (Arizona). While the NFL is concerned about attendance I really doubt you can consider it a crisis as I friends at Breitbart call it. Might be "Fake News".

The article referenced the Bears / Bengals game, which I was listening to on the radio in my car on my way home from an out of town trip. It was the first time all season that I've listened (or watched) any NFL game, and I only did so because there was nothing else good on the radio for where I was driving. During the halftime break, the Bears announcers were doing first half highlights and lowlights, when one of the guys made mention that in the second level of seats, there were about 20 rows that were mostly empty and how "terrible" it was to see that.

I don't know if the empty seats were a result of the anthem protest or because two mostly crappy teams were on the field, but I thought it was interesting to note that even the announcers have noticed the empty seat trend.

edit: And judging from the picture of Paul Brown stadium, quite a few seats in the third level were empty as well. As we say when the Bears stink and no one goes to the game, 'there are a lot of fans dressed as empty seats today.'

No worries.  It's just the flu.

That many cases of the flu in a city the size of Cincy? Hmmmm, I think the CDC needs to declare a health state of emergency. LOL!!
