Would there be the same criticism of Pastor Brennan if he had that many homeless people he was rounding up to take to dinner? Probably not.

I disagree with him on so much but in reality, I really don't know why this is such a big deal...

If y'all are criticizing for the sake of criticizing, might want to take a look at your motives.

Bragging about breaking the law isn't wise. Putting another humans life at risk isn't wise.

If you have a van that seats 15 you only drive 15 people to the soup kitchen or the neighborhood to share Jesus.

We are talking about a matter of life or death.

Then someone should have contacted him personally if it was really that disconcerting.

Last Saturday, I sat at a red light for about 5 minutes at 9:30 pm with no traffic and since the light didn't change, I turned left on red. I broke the law. In Brennan's case, the fact there were speed bumps indicate he was not in a 'speed zone' anyway and I hardly believe he would intentionally put someone's life in danger. Going 20 miles and hour over a speed bump (which I hardly doubt he was driving THAT fast) is not 'a matter of life or death'.

The van seats 15. He had 17 in it. That is not safe at any speed.

Going over the speed bump fast doesn't bother me near as much as driving with 17 people in a 15 passenger vehicle.

Many vans manufactured before 2008 use tempered glass, which is less likely to keep occupants from being thrown out of the vehicle during a collision.  Plus, vans are more likely than other vehicles to roll over. Safety is important.

And we are not talking about breaking the law alone in your car (though that can put others at risk also). We are talking about the responsibility of a driver (pastor in this situation) to keep passengers safe.

Point is. If someone ran a light, or stop sign, caused an accident (not fault to the pastor), and someone got hurt due to not being properly buckled, or buckled at all ... well ... at that point everyone will wish the laws were obeyed.

I am glad 17 people went out to share Jesus. But. 2 should have been in another vehicle following.

So, if your world you would want us to cheer driving 17 people around in a 15 passenger vehicle?

Again, 17 people sharing Jesus is wonderful ... I have said that twice I believe now.

But. Putting them in harms way to share isn't smart. Is simply isn't smart. Specially when you broadcast it on the web!

Most of those "concerned" aren't as worried about the safety of those involved as they are about getting a pound of IFB flesh.  Don't delude yourself, and don't become their pawn.

Driving 17 people in a van designed for 15? No big deal.
What?!? Christians participating in Liberty?!?!  That's uncalled for!!!!

Interesting...

A teenager gives the to those in authority and she deserves a beat down.

A pastor gives the finger to authority, then brags about it on social media. Discussing it is about a pound of flesh.

As usual, you skew the facts, and obfuscate, it's what you do.  I expect no less.

Another LAMER post, all for the cause of psychoanalyzing the posters rather than deal with their substance.

So now TB is unlearned and unstable?

Oh brother! I bet if I followed you or R2D2 around for a while I would catch  you rolling through a stop sign or red light or going 47 mph in a 45 zone. Endangering the safety of others! :o

Was about to post something similar.  If these hypocrites that don't buckle their safety belts, or drive a few miles over the speed limit were to have the truth known, well, they'd just go on being the hypocrites they are without any shame.

What is the speed limit when driving over speed bumps?

The faster you go, the less bumpy the bumps are. 8)

I think that I may have also heard that one of the tires of the van may have been underinflated, or maybe overinflated by a pound or two.  :o

So you are for endangering the lives of innocent children.

Isn't that how the game is played?

Someone says that they cannot make scripture condemn alcohol and the response is "you must love to get drunk". If you aren't fully militantly against it then you must be in support of it unreservedly. See also, Frag.
