I guess I will have to wait for you to define your terms.
FWIW Agencies don't pass laws. Agencies don't get hired. Agencies can't receive personal donations because they are agencies, not individuals.
Oh, if only we could go back to teaching a proper understanding of how our system functions.
Yes I know how it works. I typically assume that if I speak in generalities that some things are just a given and I shouldn’t need to spell everything out.
Federal laws governing the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are debated, drafted, and passed by the United States Congress. Key pieces of legislation, such as funding reauthorizations and safety modernizations, are primarily shaped by politicians serving on two specific legislative committees:
- Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions
- House Committee on Energy and Commerce (and its Subcommittee on Health)
Notice it says United States CONGRESS! These people receive the money and pass laws.
You are correct that agencies don’t receive money BUT they can leave the FDA and go work for PURDUE PHARMA A YEAR OR SO LATER GIVING THEM INCENTIVE TO BRING DRUGS TO MARKET!!! Which is my point all along.
Individual lawmakers who frequently sponsor or manage major FDA regulatory and modernization bills include:
- Senator
Bill Cassidy (R-LA)
- Representative
Brett Guthrie (R-KY)
- Representative
Anna Eshoo (D-CA)
There are others but I’m tired of copy and pasting from my phone.
Congress legally receives millions of dollars from special interest groups and lobbyists, but strictly in the form of campaign contributions rather than personal payouts.
They receive money to get reelected and try to stay in power. So AGAIN can you see how this would sway their votes and pass bills?!?!?!?!
Please, give me the name of a Congressmen that doesn’t take money from lobbyists or an FDA employee that isn’t allowed to get hired from the company that they passed laws for or large personal donations from people.
Why is this difficult to understand??
