We all have places that we remember going while we were a student at HAC.  Perhaps it was a store or a restaurant.  Maybe it was another type of business.  Let's keep the locations to the greater area around HAC and FBCH.  This thread would not include Chicago bus route areas.

*You know the drill.  One post per location.  How else can we achieve numbers?!!

As a freshman I remember going to the laundromat in Schererville.  I can't remember the name.  I do remember walking down the street with a bag full of dirty laundry.  :)

There was a little pizza joint in Dyer called Mama Ds.  The best pan pizza I have ever eaten.

I wonder if the camper sales business is still on Route 30 down from Baptist City?  I worked there for a couple of days cleaning the outside of trailers.

The most famous of them all - Shakeys!!  We would go to the one on Indianapolis Blvd.  It has been replaced with a steak house.  There was also a Shakeys in Merrillville close to the mall.  It was never as good as the Indianapolis Blvd location.

The Round the Clock restaurant.

Burger King on Indianapolis Blvd.  This would be a Sunday night or Wednesday night stop.  This is where I first saw Dennis Usher dip his french fries in a chocolate shake.  I always thought they had the best ketchup.

White Castle on Calumet Ave.  This was the first White Castle at which I ever ate.  We avoided it like the plague.  :)

What was the name of the grocery store on the corner of 30 and 41.  Was it Strack and Van Till?

The Dairy Queen on Route 30.  I don't believe they had any inside seating.  Great place to grab a cone or malt.

There was a Wendy's just past the intersection of 30 and 41.  Owen Ivey worked there.

They tore down this place to make room for Walmart:

Larry Harriston had a Christian book store along Route 41.  If you were coming from HAC on Route 30 you would turn left on Route 41.  It was down a few miles on the right.

And across the street from Sauzers...

Ah, yes.  Never ate there myself but it seems like people always spoke of it.

The Rally's on Calumet Ave right near the church. Back in the day you could get an entire meal for $2.50. And I did. About a thousand times. My Bible club was Hammond and I think I lived at that Rally's... Still get a hankering for those fries.  :D
