You have a Supreme Court Justice. Time will tell whether he is one of the finest you could ask to have as a Justice.
I know we don't agree with on climate change but the other aspect of withdrawing is leaving a leadership void which China may be happy to fill for us. Somehow aligning with Nicaragua and Syria does not seem prudent. Yes it is a change that has happen but needed neither the House or Senate.
You are correct that is has slowed to a 17 year low. Which would show that you don't need to build a wall that Mexico was never paying to build. It is also noteworthy that Trump has promised a 4% growth rate. Growth is attained when adding people to the workforce. Baby boomers are retiring and less immigration will make an already zealous goal even more difficult.
Drain the swamp. I look at a President bringing in his daughter and SIL as advisers would appear to be the beginning of creating his own swamp.
They passed a bi-partisan spending plan so avoid a government shutdown. Much of what Trump asked for was ignored.
Republicans controlled the house when there was a shutdown under Obama (2015).
My point with Sword is that the opportunity to get things accomplished happens when you have the majority. Whatever is difficult now will be even more without the majority. It is possible but would be unusual for Republicans to gain additional control at the mid-term elections.

For the first hundred days of their respective administrations Trump has 51 Executive Actions compared to 41 for Obama.
I will concede that both parties are guilty of criticizing when out of power and doing when in power. I didn't like that the Republicans would not confirm Obama's Supreme Court nominee but have no illusions that Democrats would do the same thing.

All that to say that there is a distinct difference between just the civil wedding and the Christian wedding. We recognize a civil wedding as legally binding even if the people are atheists or any other belief or practice that is different than the church.
The church feels it is right if it has additional requirements to make it a Christian Wedding. They should have that right. So now we have gay people who want to enter into the civil contract that gives them certain rights and responsibilities. Why as the church do we want to stop gay people from being able to enter into this contract. Many people who are straight a church will deny them the ability to get married in their church and that is right. We don't want the government telling the church who they should marry. Why would the church tell the government that people who are gay should not be able to enter into the civil contract?

I have no issue with you saying as a Republican you are for lower taxes. I don't think that you can make taxation a Christian issue at least not do it with a Biblical basis.

I completely support using hard earned tax dollars to fund programs for the disabled and for seniors who can not work but I am opposed to many programs that take money from hard working Americans and give it to those who are too lazy to work. Abuse of disabled SS and Welfare programs, as well as medicare and medicaid is out of control.LongGone said:

Well for starters I do not think a boy should have the right to come into a bathroom with my daughters or granddaughters. I also do not think a boy should be permitted to use the girls showers in a school, public pool, gym or anywhere else for that matter just because he's feeling a little effeminate. I don't think a boy should be able to compete on girls athletic teams or earn awards that are designated for girls. I don't think they should be exempt from the requirements designated for boys or men just because they declare they are a girl. They do not have the right to redefine the genders God created (male and female) into 31 gender possibilities as NYC is attempting to do.LongGone said:

Single stall / family bathrooms for example serve the needs of many in our community. It's a complicated issue, but the special needs of a few should not negate the rights of everyone else.

The issue is complex but not the major issue that we tend to make it out to be. The city of Minneapolis has allowed transgenders to use restroom of choice since December 1975 without issue. There are currently over 200 cities and 18 states that have adopted similar provisions without any increase in bathroom related violence.
There was considerable debate on the forum when Target allowed transgenders to use bathroom of identification. Many predictions of calamity but none of this came to pass.
