Please, I am not going to argue.  I just want some answers.

Thanks so much!

(I Corinthians 14:35(a) - And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home.)

Ask your husband.

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Jesus also talked of a new commandment to love one another.

Either way.... it's rather simply understood that there has always been people claiming to keep Gods commandments and they really don't have any love for God, other people or hold a special place in their heart for Gods people. There own "kin"....

LOL, that's hilarious.  I had no idea who was being so rude to me, I appreciate the member who gave me the heads up.

Some things never change, do they.

Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.

Swamp Hag (I'm sure you deserve a better name than that), part of the answer depends on the definitions you're using.

There is more than one definition of "fundamentalist," and I use the original one: a person who believes the fundamental doctrines of the Bible. Different groups frighten people by telling them that they are not fundamentalist if they do not obey a certain leader, but those are later, inaccurate definitions.

There is more than one definition of "Baptist," and the one I use is"a born again Christian who practices baptism by immersion after a person has accepted Christ."

Using those two definitions allows me to be an IFB without rejecting holiness in favor of man-made rules (as HAC does).

Or, possibly, in favor of man-made holiness.

I was christened Swamp Hag on the old FFF....so I chose it here instead of my old name.

While I appreciate all the answers, I am still confused as to why the IFB picks and chooses which OT laws still apply.
I am more and more concluding it is the preference of the pastor.

And JOA.....I don't care what you have to say to me.....ever.  If anyone needed to submit to her husband....

That is correct.

SwampHag, all of the commandments of the OT Law were fulfilled in Christ. However, many of them are re-stated for Christians.

Even Christians are surprised to learn that the Ten Commandments have been fulfilled in Christ. However, nine of them are re-commanded in some form in the New Testament (The Sabbath commandment is not).

Ask your husband.

I Corinthians 14:34-35 - Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

(I do not see the problem and live by what is posted - I Corinthians 14:35-36, If I have a question, I ask my husband).

Well, if you don't have a husband, get one, and then ask him.  Duh.  Better, get two or three, and then pick the best answer.
