Agreed! Mr Sterling needs to go find an island and stay there........

It should put pastors that say things out of order on notice.....get up and walk out!!!

I abhor racism... I also abhor the law or group with authority penalizing for words...the thought police are okay to some as long as we agree with the group that disagree with us... Truth is if even those I completely distain are not free to speak, no one is

In this we are agreed.

What do you think about the Nba situation?

I think that this Donald Sterling character was in the wrong line of work if he didn't like black people.

He was in Slave Owner line of work, in his mind.

1. Discriminating against black people in housing.
2. Strangling somebody.
3. Being a publicly vicious racist while black.
4. Using anti-gay slurs.
5. Attacking patrons of your sport.
6. Pushing your girlfriend to have an abortion, then harassing her about it.
7. Drawing your gun on a fellow player.
8. Reckless driving resulting in a passenger’s death.

Spike Lee is an official spokesman for the NBA and yet he has made statements like:

Upon visiting South Africa in the early 90s, Spike Lee told London’s Guardian newspaper that “I seriously wanted to pick up a gun and shoot whites. The only way to resolve matters is by bloodshed.”

Lee complained about the gentrification of Harlem in racial terms, telling an audience questioner who praised changes to the neighborhood, “Let me just kill you right now.” He continued, “Have you seen Fort Greene Park in the morning? It’s like the mother*****’ Westminster Dog Show….When you see white mothers pushing their babies in strollers, three o’clock in the morning on 125th Street, that must tell you something.”

He claims that Hollywood is "run by Jews."

He publicly boasts about his disdain when he sees an interracial couple.

Has anyone heard any outrage of hypocrisy by the mainstream media or "reverend" Jackson?

I agree with you on both counts.

There are those who are pushing that agenda in congress.

Freedom of speech is a principal pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved, and tyranny is erected on its ruins.

NBA is hypocritical! If a black owner called another black person the n word or said the same things about a white person that Sterling did ,do you think they would try to take that team away from that person. I did not hear the comments that Sterling made. If he is a racist ok, don't go to his team games. Walk away from him, his business will collapse. Also what he said was in private, his freedom of speech. I think Jesse Jackson called Obama a N at one time during a commercial break, thus a private conversation, threatening to cut Obama nuts off or something like that. Now did Jesse lose his job over that? And the NBA players have never used the N words against other blacks in private conversation?

Adultery is fine with the NBA.  8)

wasn;t there a time when being married ....and having a girlfriend / mistress  half his age ....would have been enough to bring scrutiny and condemnation down on a man in his position?........ why is anyone surprised that a man who has no more concern for his wife than that .....should also be a bigot with no concern for people of other races?......

it;s like knowing there is already something putrid in the barrel but acting all shocked and surprised when it rises to the top and surfaces.....people should have been wary of him a long time ago..... or all kinds of reasons...... ....  just my opinions...... but then i;m not even basketball fan so what do i know?.......  ::)

Exactly. His character has been obvious. Why is anyone surprised? I wonder what it is they wish to deflect attention from that they made this the big story of the day? It's not like they didn't have tons of proof of his bad behaviors already.

This guy has been a known racist for quite some time.  It was absolutely no secret.  This conversation going public was the smoking gun.  Doc Rivers (the coach) left the Boston Celtics and took the coaching job with the Clippers.  Doc Rivers knew Sterling's reputation, yet he still took the job.  Now Doc Rivers says, "We have got to heal from this".  What a jerk!  Doc Rivers, what do you have to heal from?  Signing a rich contract from a rich old guy who is known to have racial issues?  You knew it going in!  Take your pay check and shut up!!

Sterling is a racist and a jerk.  He needs to be out of the NBA.  The rest of the guys that Sterling has made millionaires need to quit acting like it was a surprise that has just devastated them and move on.

Just my opinion!

Kareem Abdul Jabbar wrote an interesting article on this for Time
http://time.com/79590/donald-sterling-kareem-abdul-jabbar-racism/

I tend to agree generally with what he wrote. How could this be the smoking gun? Sterlings racism has been public knowledge for a long time, to anyone that cared to know. Now, his girlfriend (Sterling is married btw) tapes a private conversation, then leaks it, and we are outraged. Care to consider the different kind of outrage that this would have sparked had it been the NSA that recorded the conversation?

Now, Stiviano's lawyer claims Sterling agreed to be taped, (lawyers will say anything I guess), and that "she's a young girl thrown in the middle of this thing, unwillingly". Stiviano is 31, not 18 btw. I find it interesting that this comes a month or two after Sterlings wife sued Sterlings girlfriend for the value of gifts received from Sterling, claiming they needed to be returned. (Approx 2.5M in gifts, including a duplex) Sterlings wife claims Stiviano is a gold digger. This is a counter measure to the lawsuit, plain and simple, but somehow we are now suddenly outraged at Donald Sterling instead of being outraged when we should have been, years and years ago.

I completely disagree with the whole  "Sterling's racism has been public knowledge" argument. No. It was not. This current issue received way more press then his housing discrimination suit. I never knew about it and I highly doubt that even many hardcore Clippers fans knew about it. To suggest that Doc Rivers should have done some kind of anti-racial research before accepting the job is ridiculous. I highly doubt any person on the FFF researched their boss for racism before accepting their current job. No one does that.

Sterlings list of lawsuits include
2006 being sued in the housing discrimination matter. The LA times carried an article on it.
2009 Elgin Baylor, former GM sued for wrongful dismissal.

Baron Davis claims Sterling was openly heckling black players at games. No one noticed?

The NAACP was going to honour Sterling with an award, surely they vetted him. The league itself has known for years, my point is why now do they decide "enough is enough"? The enough ship sailed long ago, they missed that boat by a long shot.

You can disagree all you want. Read ItinerantPreacher's last post.  IT WAS COMMON KNOWLEDGE.  This recorded conversation was acquired by TMZ and it was not something that could be swept under the rug.  Doc Rivers is not stupid.  There's no doubt he knew about the lawsuits and the rumors.  He chose to push it to the side and take the job.
