That reminded me of a photo I took of a sad clown figurine. With some creative lighting, I turned it into a creepy clown.
This was actually a form of light painting. With the shutter open I 'painted' a streak on the black paper in the background with a flashlight, creating the illusion of a shaft of light.
I was holding the flashlight directly above the figurine, and and lit it with the residual. I didn't think it turned out too badly.
