Rob Bell & There Is No Hell
There you go. Thanks for your honesty. You're certainly have no right to claim orthodoxy. It wouldn't know orthodoxy if it came up and bit you on the foot.

Yeah. Defending your beliefs isn't "real world stuff". Enough "Fallout 3". Its more important. I'm certain no on will ever care about your score on Fallout 3... but someone might take your advice on a forum.

I probably know more about Jerome than you or anyone you personally know. You included him on your list. I know better.
Way to convince her to continue the discussion! <claps>

Heaven being empty is not the same as Heaven not existing. Do you see how silly that sounds?

Silly? No...those are distinctly different statements.

My basement is currently empty. That doesn't mean it ceases to exist.

You're NOT GOD.... DUMB NUT...

...You might. You're just stupid enough to build a house with a basement and never use it...

I see you and Alayman went to the same Ruckman class on How to Play with Others.
God doesn't create something and leave it empty and useless for eternity.

I didn't know telling God what He does or doesn't do is something your (or my) pay grade allows for. And, who said anything about useless?

Explain its "usefulness".
Contrast?
I won't hold my breath.
Seriously dude...are you having a bad day or something?

I didn't, rsc2a did. I said I would name most of the same guys. If you're going to nail me on details, you better get them right.

Indeed. Fallout 3 is much more fun.  :P

If you ever play an online game, let me know.  Sounds like we have similar tastes, and it would be fun to play co-op in a game.  I like Guild Wars 2 (I have a level 80), but I haven't played it in months.

You thanked him for the list. His list became your list. Are you normally this dishonest? If you didn't agree with the list, you shouldn't thanked him for answering for you.

I currently play DDO regularly and am trying out the new Neverwinter. Also have an EQ II character, that seems pretty fun too.

You understand the difference between "most" and "all"?

DDO is free to play online now, isn't it?  I'll download the client and create a character.  Is Neverwinter any good?

My problem with Bell is how he phrases things in such a way that he can't be pinned down. In D.C. it is known as plausible deniability. Instead of "what I mean is" his answer is "that's not what I said".
When I find this style in a person's theological writings it has always been a signal to me that the person has something to hide. That they go to great lengths to obfuscate with their words only increases my suspicions. These persons are clever sorts, as it does take some skill to write page after page while walking on a "theological tightrope". There is an expectation of perspicuity when writing about theological topics, a lexicon that theologians all know, so when someone starts to invent new ways of discussing what are well understood topics, my "spidey sense" begins to tingle. ;)

Yes, DDO is free to play, and so are EQ II and Neverwinter.

I've been playing DDO for about 3 years now, and haven't worn it out yet. I have one character at max level (25), my halfling monk, who is in my once-a-week static group. Mostly I have characters on Sarlona and Ghallanda.

Neverwinter seems like a lot of fun so far, but I've only tried it through the beginning levels with one character, an elf mage.

I'm on pacific time, and not available at all on Fri. and Sat., which are my heaviest work days.

Ok, let me get some new characters started and I'll let you know when I'm ready.  I also have a second Guild Wars 2 account (my son's, and he hates the game so he never plays it) if you want to try it.  I'll send you the information to download and login.

Really?

In my humble experience I find that my Catholic and Anglican friends are highly knowledgeable when it comes to their own Church history. I would never make a gratuitous assertion without first having the proper citations at my finger tips. I looked like an idiot once before when I debated them on church history.
They set me straight on the Baptist successionism front when I presented the IFB position several years ago. I'll not make that mistake again.

A gratuitous assertion can be just as gratuitously denied.
