I knew a guy that was by outwardly the kind of student/grad that everyone would have thought, "Good guy", & did.

He was a nice, personable, polite, knowable, outwardly-talented and friendly sort. He traveled with a famous IFBX evangelist & his team. He married a sweet lady there. But when he became a pastor.....it was found that his talent was just continual practice of notes to play on an instrument. There was little life, emotion or joy expressed.........

When he preached he would memorize the sermons & if he was distracted he would start the section memorized over........He spent the week in a SS room in front of a mirror practicing his sermons (that's where his secretary knew to look for him). Then when the sermons were delivered HE was the subject of most of his illustrations. Basicly his sermons came down to 3 terms:
Faithfulness....
Commitment...
Attendance......(to hearing him speak).....
According to him, those were the reasons that his church was declining and not growing. So the members who faithfully committed to attend were constantly berated, beat-up & harangued for why his ministry wasn't succeeding.

When anything happened in a service that had not been planned, he would later angrily confront & condemn the person he thought at fault for breaking his routine.

He ran off all deacons that did not agree with him in any anything. He ran off his youth pastor, longtime choir director & secretary. He would make late night phone calls, calling them everything but cuss words if they did anything he disagreed with at or about church.

He took a church of about 250 that had lifelong members & when he finally resigned he'd run it down below 75 attending members. Then he left in a very ugly fashion.

He's still in ministry now..........they too will see the good turn bad & then experience the ugliness.

What a HACker!
