I do remember hearing about that story. Who knows, I may have been the one to post it. Funny thing is, it’s almost like that story is deleted from Google itself now. I can’t find it anywhere.that kind of thing has been happening for a while now..... .... i don;t know if you remember... and i can;t remember what city it was in.... but a few years ago a black ups driver beat an elderly man to death because he yelled out the "n" word while yelling at him to slow down...... witnesses said the driver was speeding down street in a reckless manner.... ... but when the old man yelled at him he stopped his van.... jumped out and started punching him.. ........
in his hearing he admitted to beating the man until he was unconcious but showed no remorse....... he ended up not even being charged with a crime because the grand jury or judge.... (whichever it was)... deemed being called that kind of racial slur was justification for his violent reaction - even it killed someone.....
That particular incident is a little more complicated. First, I agree that the sentence was completely way too light, but I can also understand the mitigating circumstances in which there was no intent to kill. Then there's this one, from 2021:

First, don't say the N-word. This isn't the 1930s.
Second, I don't care what letter it started with, harsh language shouldn't be a death penalty and retaliating with violence isn't justified. Western civilization is based on the rule of law. We don't do honour killings here.
