Franklin Graham is one of those who is mis-using the book of Esther to allege that all Persians 2500 years ago and all Iranians today want to kill all the Jews: "
'Father, you tell us in the book of Esther that the Persians, the Iranians, were wanting to kill every Jew, woman, child, and to do it all in one day,' Graham said."
I believe Graham has misunderstood the book of Esther. It was only Haman and a small minority of his henchmen who wanted to kill the Jews, not all Persians/Iranians. The Old Testament portrays Persia as a friend of the Jews.
"Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jews, Behold I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews. Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name. . . . And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews fell upon them." - Esther 8:7-8, 17.
A Persian king, Cyrus, liberated the Jews and allowed them to return to Judea and rebuild the Jerusalem Temple, Ezra 1:1-4.
A Persian king, Artaxerxes, sent Ezra to Jerusalem and granted him and the Jewish priests a tax exemption, Ezra 7:24.
A Persian king appointed Nehemiah, a Jew, to be governor of Judea and gave his administration full backing, Nehemiah 2.
"Historians and scholars of the ancient Near East have noted that the equation of Persia with Iran requires context. As France24 reported, the Persian emperor Cyrus the Great, still revered in Iran, was the first world leader to grant freedom to the Jewish people by liberating them from captivity in Babylon. Graham's prayer made no reference to that history."
Evangelical leader Franklin Graham's prayer at a White House Easter event, likening Trump to a biblical savior against Iran, has ignited widespread criticism.

If it is true, as Graham says, that the Iranians today want to kill every Jew, they are doing a very poor job of it. There are Jewish synagogues openly operating and meeting for worship today in Tehran and other major Iranian cities. Since the time of the first Iranian constitution in 1906 up to the present time, there has always been a seat reserved in the Iranian Majlis, or Parliament, for a Jewish member. Franklin Graham really doesn't know what he is talking about, but hey, we have got to whip up the racial hatred for Iranians in order to keep this war going.
