Of course the implicit meaning of such gargantuanly asinine statements is that if a person could watch porn without inappropriate lust that it would be okay to watch porn!

^This.

As for horror, I love scary movies -- the scarier, the better.  Blood and gore, no matter how realistic it may seem, doesn't scare me, which is why I'm not into blood and gore.  For whatever reason, I can't suspend disbelief when it comes to blood and gore.  It's always obviously fake to me, and therefore gratuitous.

It takes a really engaging story with unexpected events to grab enough of my attention for me to suspend disbelief and feel the intensity.  The first time I saw Aliens (the second in the franchise), I can't remember if I was scared, but I know I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and that's the kind of intense movie I like.
what about "soft porn"  its fake....they are not really doing it....it just looks like they are....????

I couldn't watch porn without feeling inappropriate lust.

I don't really struggle with hate, rage, or a desire to mimic their actions when I see someone chop another person into little bitty pieces.

(Disclaimer: I think the horror genre is generally boring.)
I understand that....but still....your putting wickedness in front of your eyes....for you to enjoy it.....

Kinda hard to keep from spreading around when we're floating in all the bovine excrement you are continuously producing in this thread.

Not necessarily because there is still the problem with the type of industry you are supporting with your viewing, and the support of that industry would be facilitating the spread of evil. But I'm not going to say there is never an appropriate occasion for viewing porn. The world is a lot bigger than just the situations you and I are aware of.

Ya know, with posts like this it reminds me of how sad it is that you are teaching people the word of God.

BTW, it's "your"........and are you ever going to provide specifics?  Or should we all just assume the main purpose of this thread is for you to promote division?
Your purpose is not to change minds and hearts, that much is evident.  Maybe the internal struggle with your personal sins is bleeding over into your forum jackassery.

Yeah. You'd hate it. We've spent several evenings lately learning how it's not about keeping a bunch of rules, but instead having a changed heart. Our group gets this intellectually, but hopefully, with repetition and life practice, they'll be able to instinctively know that the rules are only there for the immature.

But you keep on living in fear that you attempt to control by keeping a certain checklist. I'd rather my folks learn to walk in the freedom Jesus won for us at Calvary.

It appears to me to be evidence of a weak, immature believer attempting to justify his immaturity rather than using the opportunity to grow deeper into Christ. (Granted, he's by no means alone in this.)

seriously?  so the horror movies....(most of which have sexual content in them)  come from the same industry that some of these skin flicks come from and some of the sitcoms full of married actors kissing and snuggling up to other married actors just cause its acting and that's obvious fornication.....but that's ok?

sounds a lot like some "I like to do it....so it must be ok...."

I like them but I know they are wrong....I got the brass to call my sin sin thou....something that aint really high tone around here I noticed

.....Could be.....but it also appears to me that he protesteth too much.

So, in keeping with ALAYMAN's "spirit" of the thread, I offer this to him:

"But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out."

Nope.  However much LAMER might take offense, I'm not giving offense in the way Paul is actually concerned with.

The vast majority of examples (gambling, women preachers, torture porn, etc) I raised in answer to you and the other Freebird has ZERO to do with "offense" or "conscience".  This is just more obfuscation, being led by the Canuck, who is notorious for not addressing his opponent but rather taking potshots and heaping scorn.

And it is a clear misdirection to slap each other on the back about the definition of "offense" (which I never used, and have clarified/defined biblically more than once in this thread) on your part to call me immature whilst you defend viewing pornography "in the right context".

This thread, unlike the other, has become predictably a sounding board for cynics, haters, and freebirds to spew their twisted version of "grace" to justify whatever perversion they want, all the while using God for the ability to enjoy things like "porn".

Chalk this phenomenon (more vocal Freebirds and less conservative Bible believers) up to another difference that should be cited in FSSL's thread about the differences in the various iterations of the FFF.

Chronology is your friend. I just got here and picked up where I left off. I responded to his/your first posts. See my next post after he had made the stupid statement.

Running a little hair trigger there aren't we buddy?

lol, do you find any irony in the "chronology" statement, especially in light of me responding in real space and time to your wrong charge that my logic was off?

How about addressing the substance of what I've claimed?  You often do this sub.  The topic is Freebirdism.  The subject is a poster's claim that porn is okay if watched in the right context.  Do you want a more specific example given, or should I invite free2beme to offer some other misdirection and obfuscation here?

Apology accepted.
