Venue aside, The Playboy Interview is a prestigious piece of journalism. I doubt Carter had to "rely" on it; probably his advisors told him it was well worth his while to grant it.

Not something I'm going to buy, either. "I only read Playboy for the articles" is an old and lame joke. But if you took away the girlie pictures, so that only the articles were left, it would be a pretty decent opinion and literary magazine. My university carried the Braille edition of Playboy (causing some controversy with the campus feminists in the early 1990s) because of the literary value of the short stories and interviews. Hefner didn't skimp on the quality of his writers.

He was a former writer himself, so stands to reason. Now, the braille edition of his magazine, I have to say I never knew that. Interesting.

Yeah, I was only drawing attention to the fact that the subject of presidential character assessments based on sexual immorality is tricky business for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is Trump isn’t really near the top of the list in that department. Having said that Carter gets an A++ in his report card for presidential morality/character.

No, I could not vote for him, and not because he's a Hindu. His lack of support for Israel would be an important factor in my decision, and he's clear on his lack of support for them, and several other of our allies.
