No, more humorous reflections than anything. Not long after that song came out, I can remember some kids purposely wearing their clothes backwards like Kriss Kross in the video. But yeah, I always thought it was a catchy tune. 🎵

if you ever once actually experienced voices in your head - the way those of us you and others here make fun do - you would wet your pants.... . they would find you sitting in a corner rocking back and forth with your hands over your ears.... or banging your head against a wall trying to make it stop..... ..

My uncle was schizophrenic. I am well aware of how it works.

no ..... you are not aware of how it works.... .when has it ever touched you personally?........ or even effected you by having it in your immediate family?........ ... you might be "aware" as an uneducated twice removed relative of someone with schizophrenia - removed just far enough to give you someone in your family you could makes jokes about - then crow how "its ok" because "he;s your uncle"..... ..... you might as well be telling racist jokes with the "n" word and saying "oh it;s ok... i have some black friends"..... ..... you are disgusting....

Okay.

I will say that I appreciate him not killing me (or anyone else) when the voices told him he should. It was the day after he resisted them that he asked me to take all of the guns out of the house.

no it;s not "okay".... .. you are pretending to be an authority on a very devastating condition when you have no formal education and no personal experience with it...... you "had an uncle who had something"....and now you claim to know how it works..... so much so you feel authorized to make jokes about it ... and make mockery of it..... and you still make mockery of it with your lame cartoons..... ...

what other things do you claim to know all about based on second hand exposure and no formal education?... ....or are you just a fraud about everything?......

well alrighty then..... it seems you might be qualified for a special "expert in psychology" diploma..🧐... .... just go down to a carnival or amusement park that has the special coin operated machines... .. put in a quarter and select "psychiatrist" on the screen.... . . the machine will print one up for you in a matter of seconds....:sneaky:

oh yeah.... you are definitely qualified for a special "knows something" status..... :rolleyes: .....unless ... of course.... you are basing your christianity on the same criteria as your expertize on schizophrenia... .. "you knew someone who went to church and read the bible... therefore you know all about christianity..".. ...even other christians who believe being a christian makes them an expert in these matters too - might take exception with you over that...... 🤨

In your experience, have the voices ever told you to do good things? Like visit the sick, give to the poor, engage in random acts of kindness?

i do those things every week as part of a homeless ministry i work in... why would "voices in my head" need to tell me those things?... .........no offense... but it;s obvious you don;t understand how schizophrenia works either.... ...

and i;ve noticed that you only seem to notice things that feed preconceived notions you already have in your head......

there is is much more to schizophrenia than anything you think you noticed or think you know... .. most of what i hear... see or sense in other ways - is all based on memory..... things i have heard or been through before played over and over like a tape on an endless loop... sometimes multiple things at once... and that;s only part of what it is.....

and i tried to discuss this subject with you in good faith once before .... but you had no intention of discussing anything.... especially not in good faith..... . you just wanted a setting to profess your ignorance and a stage to make your points from...... .

i will not discuss this with you again....

but if you really want to learn something about schizophrenia go to college... . get assigned to a clinical internship working with schizophrenics.... . or just go out onto the street and try ministering to the homeless on your own... a large percentage of the homeless are schizophrenic........ ... but mind your manners and your Ps and Qs if you do that... ...walking into that world is easy... .. walking back out again might take a lot more in the way of diplomacy and communication skills than i have seen you display on this forum.... . you might have to actually.... **gasp**..... be nice to them.... :oops: 😖........ ... let us know how it goes...

I claimed no authority. I refuted your claim that I was ignorant of schizophrenia/mental illness which was brought up by you, not me.

And since I was not referring to schizophrenia in the first place I could have (should have) ignored you. The cartoon is a common depiction of a common occurrence for most people as they weigh things out in their minds, hence the reference to voices in ones head. We all have internal thoughts (voices) as we process the world around us. Sometimes it's reflecting on a previous experience or conversation. Thinking that I should have said this or shouldn't have said that. Sometimes it's the Holy Spirit reminding me of a scripture passage or putting a restraint on my "vain imaginings". I can't apologize for experiencing something that the Bible itself describes and has told me to expect.
