There is no doubt, and no one is denying, that God can and will use bad preachers, bad messages and bad collection methods to further His purposes.

I also have no doubt that there are, somewhere, honest pastors who use FP and do not abuse the scripture nor browbeat those who give.  While I do not agree with the principle, I still give a hearty "AMEN".

What is your preferred "method" in supporting missions?

No different than anything else.

Give as the Lord has prospered you, not of necessity, but out of love.

You have just described Faith Promise Missions giving.

Right.  Sure.

I've never been to a church that practices FP that when the giving is down, it's not pushed as a "necessity".

In my experience, when promoting FP it?s all about the faith.
After the pledge cards have been signed, it?s all about the promise.

A month of faith and then beat down commences through the rest of the year.
It?s been that way since the days of Schaap, Kimmell, and Smith.

Mal 3:8  Will a man rob God? yet ye rob me. But ye say Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
Mal 3:9  Ye are cursed with the curse; for ye rob me, even this whole nation.

To a person who has no idea that this was written specifically to OT believers the effect can be devastating when you barely can put food on the table. I know people that are in this situation. I give them a copy of ?Freedom to Give?.
It?s unbelievable how they cheer up after reading that.

I have never promised God anything as I knew I could not always keep that promise regardless of its content.

Calvinist:  "He's obviously not of the elect."

Steve Anderson:  "More proof that followers of Peter Ruckman are all lost!"

I was at a church a few years ago that had a split.  Of course, the Faith Promise giving suffered.  At a business meeting the pastor mentioned that the mission's surplus would be gone very shortly and if the Lord would lead anyone to give more it would be a blessing.  No one was pushed nor was the word "necessity" used.

Right.  They come for the free coffee and donuts.

That is what they are called on the architectural drawings.
We have been Catholic light since Bro. Hyles day, we just try to hide it. These rooms don?t count in the 6,200 auditorium seats.

This room the West room, is used for people who have sick children or do not want to sit in the auditorium.
East room is for the many people that have special needs, service dog, IV bag, oxygen tank, etc. East room open only to those that have a special pass.
