While I don't particularly agree with Trump on many things. There is one thing I "dig" about him. The article talks about how he doesn't "back down". I have to admit, I like this in him. I think he was wrong about McCain. I am a moderate and have generally supported moderate candidates. I voted for McCain. I voted for Romney. I am a firm believer that politics is all about compromise.

However, I'm starting to change my mind. We have given up SO MUCH.... that I believe its time to push back. Its time to be combative. Its time to say what we mean and let the chips fall where they may.

Why is it liberal expect compromise from everyone else but themselves?

When you say stupid things (ie-immigration comments and McCain is not a war hero) you should back down. Knowing when to stand and when to back down is a quality to be admired. Just not backing down is not. Successful liberals and conservatives do know when to compromise. Look at Reagan and Clinton...two very different but both popular presidents.

I basically agree.  One thing I really like about Trump is that he doesn't talk like a politician.  He doesn't measure his words carefully and refuse to answer questions and rattle off a set of talking points, instead.  Sadly, even Walker does that.  Also. Trump's comments about McCain were taken out of context, as usual.

Yep. I do believe the McCain comments where taken out of context too. Trump was trying to bash McCain and he went about it the wrong way but he was dead on when it came to protecting veterans. McCain and Graham neither one did much of anything to stop the VA from killing veterans. They can complain about bureaucracy all they want. They are an intricate part of the very bureaucracy they blame.

That is also what I like about Trump!
And what I dislike about other 'cave to PC pressure' politicians!
I think his comments about McCain were over the line, but the fact that McCain called the thousands who have attended Trump events as 'crazies' seems to be fine with everyone.
The double standard in the liberal media continually gripes me....

Trump decided to run because he cares about one thing: Donald Trump. Unless he's suddenly not a big supporter of Hilary seeing as how he's donated piles of cash to her and other Dems.

He only says these outrageous ribs because he knows the predictable media will give him airtime and who doesn't like free publicity. Just makes his brand all the more valuable. As an added bonus, he gets to make Republicans look insane, take focus off of what President Obama is pushing, and keep people from talking about Hilary and Bernie,

What do you care? No one cares about Bernie and Hilary.

I believe Trump speaks his mind. He isn't just saying things to get the attention. He's being a real human being. Not some political robot.

"I’ll tell you what I think. I raised $125,000 for one of His hospitals. That’s a lot of money. I supported Him, He lost. He let us down. But, ya know, He lost. So I never liked Him much after that, ’cause I don’t like losers. He’s a savior? He’s a savior because he was captured. He got crucified. I like saviors that weren’t crucified, OK? I hate to tell you: Jesus? He’s a loser." Donald Trump

I don't know how accurate the article is but if it is true and not an Onion piece I would never vote for him.

Trump isn't speaking his mind. He's saying whatever he thinks will get him more air time.

Sure. You're an expert at reading peoples minds.

Good grief man.... Did you even read the first couple sentences?

Trump will deliver in the near future

Yeah. I hear you. I'm not trying to support him regardless of reason. I'm just saying there is a reason for his popularity. The forum NUT.... rsca obviously doesn't like him. That's almost reason for me to pull for him. :)

You mean of course, like any other politician?
There are politicians who aren't self-promoting blowhards...but few of those decide to run for President. :)

For those who might not have noticed, I direct your attention to the first word under the crucifiction picture in the link from Daily Caller:

  SATIRE

I see now that it is satire.  I was getting ready to walk out the door to go to work when I saw the article in "The Daily Caller" and the way it was presented I didn't know if it was a satire about Donald Trump or by Donald Trump.  After hearing the comments about POW's I honestly didn't put it past the Donald to actually say the things in the satire piece.  The Daily Caller said they would publish it "without comment" making me think it was so outrageous there would be no need to comment on it.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought it may be Trump himself actually trying to be "funny."

With that said I will say personally I like many of the things Trump is saying and may actually vote for him since I had just about made my mind up to quit voting.  I read an article that Charles Spurgeon didn't like to vote and was so opposed to the wars that England had gotten into that many might consider him to  be a pacifist.  The War Between the States is an exception he made because he believed the conflict was mostly about slavery but I would humbly disagree with him on that point.

Politically speaking Christian conservatives and conservatives in general are so fed up with Republicans they are willing to vote for just about anybody who actually speaks his mind.  Trump is definitely like a bull in a china shop which makes him so appealing to so many.

There is a picture of Trump in my dictionary...right next to the word Narcissist. With Trump it's ALWAYS about Trump and how he and his are always the greatest. More telling in that same interview is his statement he has "never apologized to God" and not sure he needs to. This is someone who claims to believe in God and be a regular church-goer. Trump's pride is why Trump does what he does...and doesn't.

There have always been good people in the US who want to believe in the "populist voice for the people". ("Face in the Crowd" with a serious Andy Griffith role is a great movie example).  Donald Trump is not that guy. He has no ideological core, careening from past support of Pelosi, Clinton, and Bloomberg  to his current act of bluster.

I am no fan of McCain BUT he indeed was a hero for what and how he endured as a POW. I'm not sure how anyone can say Trump was "misquoted". Sure, he went on to say McCain was a hero but only in mocking him for being captured. No thanks.

I believe you can be a principled conservative who has a chance of being elected and not being a jerk.

I don't doubt one bit that Trump is a Narcissist.  Name one politician running right now who isn't.  I doubt it matters who the next president is but Trump isn't any worse than the others.  Trump should apologize to the POW's and to McCain himself.  However, where is the outrage where McCain called everyday citizens (the ones who got him elected) "crazies" simply because they want a secure border?

If you recall McCain tried his best to hide information from the public about POW's.  I don't believe John McCain gives two cents about the military.  At least Trump puts his money where his mouth is.  Politics is a messy business.

I don't care for Trump or McCain but no one is a bigger narcissist than Trump. Not sure it's possible. :)  And where is his consistent record of conservatism?  His "putting his money where his mouth is" is a big concern considering where many of his past campaign donations have gone! He is a siren song for many who are rightly angered that he will never satisfy.

I am a pretty informed guy and can never remember hearing of the charge against McCain you brought up and POW's. I did a quick google search and the first results I see are from Alex Jones, WND and dailykos. Not saying there isn't anything there but I wouldn't believe it from those sites. Now I would believe it if Ann Coulter said it.  She disdains McCain and I would have expected she would have brought it up if true but I don't remember her ever making  any such claim so I am respectfully doubtful at this point.
