Women Invited To Apply To U.S. Army's Elite, All-Male Ranger School
...I don't want an "utter depraved" man with 100 yards of me...
I would say that you need to live in a hole by yourself then,  but there would still be an utterly depraved person there so you'd have to kill yourself to accomplish your goal,  and that defeats the purpose,  no?

As mentioned above and reiterated by rsc2a, I remain unconvinced that you understand the fundamental elements of the OT situation. The society was male-dominant. The fact that we have 3 recorded examples of women in war, does strengthen my argument. I am neither going to foist my preferences on those examples. Nor am I going to "hand wave them off" as if they do not apply.

CBMW (the standard complementarian think tank) takes the position that these women WERE actually involved IN COMBAT.* They just presuppose (wrongly), that the women were out-of-bounds. They do not argue from the absurdity that they were not involved in combat.

Since you reject the fact that this was a male-dominated society... then what more can we discuss?

* From CBMW's 1997 resolution on women in the military... " WHEREAS, Biblical examples that record women serving in combat (Jud. 4:4-23) are presented as contrary to proper and normal gender-based distinctions between male and female roles and responsibilities, and as caused by a failure of male leadership that is worthy of shame (Jud. 4:9-10)."

So then if the military men are not going to Ranger school and are not stepping up for combat then the women could step up, if one was qualified.

But that doesn't seem to be an issue in the American military.

I could tolerate a liar, thief, or even a murderer like Moses. I couldn't handle someone looking to take me.

Going back to Green Beret's comment...

"A prophetess that went along with Barak because he did not show the confidence or character he, as a man called of God to war, should have had."

THIS is EXACTLY the rationale that the standard complementarian ends up taking when they have to discuss Deborah. They paint Barak as a person who gave up leadership because he lacked character and was not the man he should have been.

Ironically, the complementarian ends up becoming the feminist. The complementarian ACCUSES Barak of something that the Bible NEVER accuses him of -- i.e., relegating leadership and not being a less than obedient man. The complementarian has to make Barak look pathetic for his interpretation to stick.

PROBLEM: Hebrews 11 calls Barak's actions in this battle as a man "who by faith conquered kingdoms..."

And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness...

Women who are able to fight and defend their country are no less women. Men, under a superior woman's direction, are still men in the fullest sense of manhood.

Paul said it better
1 Cor 5:9-10
I wrote to you in a letter not to associate with sexually immoral people.  I did not mean the immoral people of this world or the greedy and swindlers or idolaters; otherwise you would have to leave the world.

I think that actually goes against what he was trying to say. Oh well. He seems to be on his own little island.

Maybe some are confusing Barak with Barack!    8) :o :)

Uh, no. Paul wasn't saying stat away from non believers but stay away from believers who weren't living right. We can't escape "sinful people" of this world

When Prin.Ciples brought up two gay men in a foxhole, I am sure Biblebeliever took notice and thought... Barack and Mr. Obama are cowardly hiding in a foxhole.

In short, you didn't actually mean what you said... except for this one particular type of depravity.

Or is there something about you that all homosexual men cannot resist?

Nah.  Obama would be walking by the foxhole saying, "Okay everyone, stop firing for a minute... playing through."

I only wish that the ISIS swine knew just before they died that they were being sent into eternity by a woman.

In Dearborn (outside Detroit) the Muslim women ride in the back seat.

What does it matter to the Christian if they let women in or not?

The majority of Christian gals I have observed over the years don't submit to their God given roles and Biblical views on women anyways! At home, in public, or the church house.
