Most any worker, works much harder than the average "pastor or evangelist".

Can you show Biblical support for "pastor appreciation day" or have you always been "extra Biblical"?

It is a logical argument with a little sarcasm thrown in.
So......... Biblical instruction isn't needed. You just determine what should be "right" in a church by your own logic? Got it.

You're speculating about me. Does it bother you that you're doing the exact same things you "claim" I'm doing?
I ain't speculating anything. I simply state the obviousness revealed in your own words. You don't know my pastor or anything about him yet you impugned his character by saying that he moved from corporate work into pastoral work in order to do less.

You can't see yourself for what you are. I can. You'll face God with calling me a fool. I've already told you what Jesus said about it and you don't care.
Just the same way that you misinterpreted the passage of Paul which you rip out of its context you do the same in applying your logic about the word fool. I am not calling you fool out of anger or claiming you are an apostate. I am saying that you are extremely ill informed and naive if you think that passage represents your view when it actually contradicts it.

Which I have in your words.

He is a self proclaimed IFB with relationship to people that I do know..... and he does the same. I know what he teaches. I know what he preaches. If he was different they wouldn't let him in their circle.

Like a good little IFB... you call me a fool and then try to explain away that fact you called me a fool. I leave you to God.

40 hours would have cut short what we had to accomplish in ministry.
I don't ever remember having a short week like that except for a holiday or vacation.

I spent 30 hours preparing ONE sermon... so, add Sunday School lesson, Wednesday night prep... counseling... visiting with members... prayer... I could NEVER stuff all that into just 40 hours.

1. So you're going count praying? What about all those other people praying and putting in their 40 plus hour weeks?

2. So you're going to count studying? What about all those members studying like you demanded they do and putting in their 40 plus hour week?

3. So you're going to count studying the Sunday School class lesson? What about all those members studying the Sunday School lesson like you asked them to AND... putting in their 40 hour week....

Plus...... many/most get paid to do it and all the members are doing it for free.

Freely you have received. Freely you should give. Just like every other child of God.

As far as a "job" is concerned, a good church member is doing everything you're doing.... PLUS a full time job.

1) his relationship to whomever you are claiming has nothing to do with his work ethic in the past or now. It is a non-sequitur. Focus on your op and don't run down rabbit trails.

2) What are some of these alleged beliefs of his?

Like a good little IFB... you call me a fool and then try to explain away that fact you called me a fool. I leave you to God.

Here is Merriam-Webster...

1 : a person lacking in judgment or prudence Only a fool would ride a motorcycle without wearing a helmet.
2a : a retainer (see retainer entry 1 sense 1) formerly kept in great households to provide casual entertainment and commonly dressed in motley with cap, bells, and bauble
b : one who is victimized or made to appear foolish : dupe History has made fools of many rash prophets.
3a : a harmlessly deranged person or one lacking in common powers of understanding
b : one with a marked propensity or fondness for something a dancing fool a fool for candy
4 : a cold dessert of pureed fruit mixed with whipped cream or custard

I bet you can even guess which one of these is how I used the term. And I also would be willing to bet, if you are intellectually honest, that you can also distinguish that none of them have the same context religiously or theologically as the usage in the Bible.

The same ones in YOU. The ones we've argued about for years.

You've been arguing for me being a fool for how many posts now?

God has the record. Enjoy. I'm done bantering with your claims of me.

By the way, if you do believe this nonsense "sell" you're making. By all means, change your KJV to make sure it delineates between what line you're drawing and what you claim it really says.

Based on this logic school teachers should not be paid either. After all the students are studying the same lesson the teacher has to study and they are not getting paid for it.

That's a nice evasion there. Care to specifically answer the question?

You also conveniently sidestepped the fact that your speculation about my pastor is based on no evidence.
You've been arguing for me being a fool for how many posts now?

Another evasion. You take my words out of context better than Dan Rather or a CNN anchor.

Are we in conversation now? Not according to your logic, because in the KJV that word means conduct. Don't conflate meanings of antiquated words.

I have many times over. Why don't you use that memory your present as being flawless.

No sidestepping involved. The proof is in you.

No. You called me a fool. Plain and simple. NOW, you want to say that the English word "fool" is different than the English word fool found in your KJV.

The word fool found in the KJV isn't antiquated. Not that you would know. You're making this up as you go.

From the ESV....

Mat 5:22 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

I did the work of the ministry...apparently treasure_unseen has not SEEN this passage of Scripture: "...
4and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word." Acts 6.4

I've seen it plenty of times. It is a mistake that some of the disciples made very early on in their ministries after Jesus left this world.

Did you notice there were some that didn't follow Acts 6:4?

Jesus stripped Himself naked and put on a towel to wash their feet to teach them a lesson. A lesson they soon forgot.

The disciples should have served tables, prayed and ministered as well. Paul did. As well as others.

In fact, I know you did. You wouldn't be retired like you are if you'd done what they did. Don't pretend you did what they did in Acts 6:4. You didn't. I'm glad you didn't.

You are THE caricature of all you claim to disdain in the IFB.
You are arrogant, ignorant and ill informed.
Haymaaaannnnnn.....

God has the record. His record is true. Your record is tainted with lies and desires to promote yourself.

I didn't make enough in ministry to fund a retirement account. I am not retired. I am simply free because my "tent-making" work via the internet has given me that freedom. (No... I dont make much from the ads on this forum).

I am free to help ministries with media and construction... both, skills I have developed. (Right now I am in a "holding pattern" to help with my grandson). However, we do travel quite a bit.
