Donald Trump

so... rather than see a few rich guys get tax breaks ... you would rather see yourself and millions of other americans like you get massive tax increases ...........ok... gotcha........:sneaky: ..... .personally i think you need to step away from the left wing news channel and stop drinking at their koolaid stand.... ....but ...whatever.....:)
Ok.

I’ve researched him thoroughly and we’ve had extensive conversations in the past about Carter and his religious beliefs. I’m already familiar with what you said that’s true and what’s just plain garbage, and since you’re the one making the claims, do your own damn research to back it up.
Anyone old enough to remember the 1976 campaign knows that Carter ran on the platform of “homosexual rights.” Shortly after being sworn in, he became the first President in history to invite homosexual activists to the White House, and yet there are Christians on this forum who tout how much more righteous Carter is than Trump because of Trump’s mean tweets.

Carter openly opposed the Boy Scouts for banning homosexual Scout Masters and keeping them out of the classrooms teaching our children in the public schools. He also believed men should be allowed to compete against women.

Carter publicly stated that Jesus approved of gay marriage.

This is the Southern Baptist, born-again Sunday School teacher so many Christians set as an example of what a President should be like and how much more godly he is than Donald Trump.

Yes. They are both unrighteous men contrary to your beliefs.
I’m going to make this easy for you. I don’t believe Trump is a righteous man, but I do believe many of his policies have led to righteous consequences.

On the other hand, I believe Carter was a righteous man, but some of his policies led to unrighteousness consequences.

Either way, I don’t condemn Trump for making a cabinet pick the highest ranking gay member in the history of this country. If Trump believes he’s the best man for the job, then that man should have the job regardless of his sexual preference. I also don’t condemn Carter for being cordial to the gay community in his term of office. It’s called politicking and all politicians who are at a high level of office do it. It doesn’t mean he personally endorsed every person’s stance he rubbed shoulders with.

Where's the biblically righteous candidate we all want? Why isn't he on the ballot?
Also... Name me ONE presidential candidate who was "biblically righteous".
DrHuk&Duck
Jimmy Carter is the only one I know of in recent American history.

Grow up.

You seem like an angry guy. It’s a very cool morning here. I’m going to go outside with a hot cup of holiday blend coffee, pop a Zyn, and enjoy the fire pit. I’d strongly suggest you do the same. Cheers. 😎☕

Ask your friends in the party. It's their responsibility to field godly candidates, not our responsibility to vote for the ungodly ones they do field.

You keep helping to make my/our point.
It doesn’t matter who he rubbed shoulders with as much as his disastrous and embarrassing economic and military decisions.

I've been using Quicken to track my finances since 1988. It lets me look at yearly totals instead of the day-to-day fluctuations.

This year, I've spent slightly more (about 8%) on gas than last year, although less than I spent in 2022 & 2023. I don't think we've driven anymore this year than last year, but that would be a relevant piece of data.

This year, I've spent significantly more on groceries than last year, and more than each of Biden's years.

This year, I've spent more on all utilities than last year, and more than each of Biden's years.

And since I always like some humor, this year, I spent more for daughter 1's wedding than I did for daughter 2's wedding last year. :D

From my perspective, the economy is worse this year than last. Of course, one can argue that Trump is reversing the damage done by Biden. I'll see if 2026 improves.

And just so I'm not labeled a Biden supporter: I've never voted for a Democrat for any federal office. I've always voted Republican, Independent, or Libertarian.
Biden supporter.

😁

I really hear you on the electric cost. Me and Alaywife literally just discussed whether or not to consider getting those solar panels put on our house to offset the escalating costs, but I found out that the solar tax credits are being phased out in 2026, by the one big beautiful Bill. Dang Trump, lol.

That’s truly never gonna happen.
Been happening for over two thousand years. For me since 1981. It is the core of the Christian faith.

No way the USA is going to rank above Jesus.

Inflation is down. It was created by Biden and it’s not gonna go away overnight. Spending on credit is not a new phenomenon. People are often financially stupid, spending outside of their means because they need the latest iPhone 18. That doesn’t mean the economy is bad. As far as employment. I work at what is considered one of the best employers in my region. We can’t get people to work. I’m not talking about merely $25 an hour either. We’re getting ready to fire a guy who keeps making up crap about why he can’t come to work. He’s young, just started the job, and more than $25 an hour. Just like during the pandemic, people didn’t wanna leave their telework and other comfortable situations and go back to the job market. They talk about a balanced work life regimen. My dad called it lazy. For 35 years of my working life I heard Democrats especially talk about the main reason they vote is the economy. I never had a worse economic situation in my life until Biden. It’s nothing like that right now for my portfolio. I won’t get into specifics, you can just take my word for it. I’m not citing my own personal example anecdotally as the norm, but I can tell you other stories of people that are working to middle class that feel the same way.
The current inflation cycle started during the summer of 2020 with the dumping of previously nonexistent money into the economy.

This pretty much describes the status quo in the United States. The conservative Christian is just as stuck with the GOP as the minority population is stuck with the Democrats. Same problem, different plantation.

but in the american political process we are the people responsible for fielding those candidates..... or at least is how it should be... .. the way it is supposed to work is someone decides they want to run for office so they enter a local race or a local primary... and then if they win that - they move on to a larger primary and on up to the bigger races against other candidates who won their own local primaries....... by the time someone enters a race at the national level they should have already received support of a majority of voters in their party or local areas....

but the problem is that with most american voters the only election they ever vote in is the presidential election once every 4 years... . they pay no attention to who is running for what or where until that big election comes and they are faced with a list of candidates only a small group of voters who were paying attention selected....... ...so the fault of not seeing any worthwhile candidates on their presidential ballot is at least partly their own for sitting back and leaving the primaries and local races to someone else to worry about....

Protest votes are an American citizen’s right, but wildly ineffective at achieving any meaningful intended result.
Not if 30% or more don’t vote for the Republican Party. They will at that point need to make a decision. They, being the politicians.

I’ll say it again, if they know you’ll vote republican no matter what they will continue to screw you. And continue to give corporate tax cuts instead of giving them to you.

I thought we were talking about voting in an actual believer?
