  • Doomsday Book, Connie Willis

I also started on Sartoris by William Faulkner and Part 2 of Faust by Goethe, but got hung up on them. Longer than I expected in both cases.
 
Just finished "Nixon, a Life"

I learned a lot. I was 10 when the Watergate break in occurred. The names were all familiar but I didn't really know their rolls in the matter.

my dad was 16 when that happened.... . . he said the day nixons resignation was broadcast live on television he was leaving the house with a friend to go fishing... .. he said his grandfather yelled at them from the living room and said.... "hey!... you boys need to come watch this.... this is history!... "... ...........of course they didn;t.... they left and went fishing.. ... ......he said he watched the reruns of it later on tv - of which there was no shortage of.....

looking at video clips now with what i know of medical science... and seeing nixons face and the way his color changed - i think it;s a wonder he didn;t have a heart attack mid-speech... ..
