Actually the historic Pre-mil position is more likely Post Trib. We see that all the way back to such men as Ireneaus, Polycarp, Justin Martyr, and Papias.

I got my dog ordained for $20 "The Reverend Teddy" - an Irish Setter (who was smarter than most IFB preachers I knew).

    Short Announcement

Oh, yes. Pancreatic cancer is very, very painful. I am living on hydrocodone (synthetic heroin). I asked if it was addicting. They said, yes, so what? :D

    Short Announcement

I guess it is time to go public with the following announcement. I have been feeling bad for the past month so I went to the doctor who ordered multiple tests. (I have lost 30 pounds in the past month without dieting.) On Friday I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. When discovered...

I don't think personal greed had anything to do with JRR's position on tithing. It is more likely based on his belief that the church existed in the Old Testament and not all Jews could get to Jerusalem to leave their tithe at the Temple so they did acts of local charity instead of "storehouse...

The tithe goes into the "storehouse." In the OT that would be the Temple. In the New Testament it would be the local church. Any money given to anyone apart from the local church would not count toward the tithe. Some carried it so far as to say any money sent to a mission agency instead of...

John R. Rice was an Historic Chiliast. An Historic Chiliast is a non-dispensational Pre-millennialist. They usually see the beginning of the Church/Body of Christ in the Old Testament (as did Rice) and many are post-trib (as was Spurgeon). Many deny storehouse tithing. Among those who are...

Yes, his father was a klansman, but he repudiated his father's "error" publicly. Uh, you are aware, are you not, that Rice was NOT a dispensationalist?

Uh, neither one. In the Prayer He was teaching His disciples in Mat 6:12 he said "???? ???? ?????? ??? ???????????? ??????, ??? ???? ??????? ????????? ????? ???????????? ???????" In other places, when not instructing the disciples regarding how to pray He said as in Mat 6:15 "????? ??? ...

I think this statement may be the cause of the differences among us. You seem to be saying that your definition is "letter perfect perfection in all words, word choices, variants, etc." But that is not how I, and the dictionary, define "perfect." The primary definition of "perfect" according...

How do you interpret I Samuel 26:11?

Actually I didn't. I stated the definition of the Hebrew as it applies to Messianic prophecy. Perhaps you need to carefully read with understanding those things I wrote. And again you display an appalling lack of reading comprehension. I said that Saul died exactly as God decreed. God is...

How do you interpret I Samuel 26:11?

Wow! You have a serious reading comprehension problem! No, David did not think Saul was the Messiah. He knew who Saul was. Saul was the king. The Hebrew word means "anointed." Yes, we all know that. Thank you Captain Obvious. Go back and read what I wrote. You do understand the purpose of an...

How do you interpret I Samuel 26:11?

I guess it depends on whether you think a pastor is the Messiah (Annointed = ???????? ma?sh??yach, Messiah). In my not entirely humble opinion Saul's death was a type of Messiah's death. It was not to be the result of a violent attack (the spear of verse 8) but by the means determined by Jehovah.
