I have a good friend. He is very intelligent and went farther than I did in his education (Th.M.).
Yet, he has a peculiar take on 1 John 1:8-10. He believes (or used to) that this passage teaches that when you confess your sin, you never have to confess it again.
Here is the passage:
If we claim to be without sin,q we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.t 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.
Your thoughts, first.
