Another question...

Balaam, you keep bringing this thing up about people needing to be on meds. Are you on a medical program, and if so, are you having problems with the program?

I'm not making fun of you; are you having a problem with a medical program?

Hey, not all of us suffer from mental instability.  In fact, some of us enjoy it.

Yes! Apparently they forgot to send you your monthly supply!

Vince you are a hoot.

The joking going on about meds is quit common among those of us that take heart meds just to stay alive.

We certainly don't get offended.

No meds = arrhythmia, flutter or stroke, certain death if one is not careful.

Both my wife and me are on heart meds, for those that take important meds to stay alive missing one or more can be fatal or at the very least cause one to exhibit behavioral problems. I recognize in others what happens to me if I mess up the timing on my meds.

Another thing, you would seem to be at least in your 60s maybe 70s, both my wife and me are in the upper area.

I don't know if you take meds, but I suspect you may have reached the point in life where meds are required to continue on living in a normal manner and just to stay alive.

I am certainly not wanting to come across as unkind in the least.

Folks, this is one of the reasons why the FFF has dropped from one of the largest forums on the web to an insignificant site today.

People come in, disobeying God's commands not to judge, not to speak evil of the brethren, and not to scorn. If anyone objects, others will jump in to defend these sins.

Most Christians, including people who used to post heavily, will have nothing to do with the FFF today. Even the majority of former administrators will have nothing to do with the FFF today.

...and another reason I stayed away so long.

I try to be a positive person, and the negativity here drags me down.

I just really wanted some answers to my question.  <shrugs>

Are you JOA?

JOA is Jehanne de Pussay, or however she spells it.

She won't say, til she asks her husband!

Balaam, you are having a problem with a medical program, then?

The main reason being that it was sold to a slum lord who let the spammers ruin it.

Probably the second reason is that most people spend more time on Facebook.

You're right, Ransom. There are other reasons. Among them--FFF is a victim of its own success. So many people were reading FFF that Jack Schaap and Jim Vineyard had to preach against it, and SOME of the abuses were corrected.

Another success is that people who thought that they were the only ones who saw sin at HAC and similar institutions were isolated. The FFF showed them that they are not even close to being alone. Once that problem was solved, many of them did not need to stay.

It was better with Shiloh and Blessed Union pouring out their "grace and mercy" to everyone?

Anti-Schaap or other IFB uber-clowns have always been a minority of all posts on the FFF in any incarnation. Why do you assume that their own downfall is a "success" for this forum? So far as I know, no one here ever called the police on 'em.

As I said: all forum use has decreased on the Net since the FFF's inception. Being moved around from address to address and owner to owner hasn't helped, but 10 years ago there was also no Facebook, no Twitter. The way people spend their time on the Internet has changed with the times and technologies. It's not us. It's universal.

When JOA is back, the crazy is about to break out.

Besides... we have experienced exponential growth this year. From 16,000 unique visitors/month to now over 23,000.

I tend to agree that the ANTI-FFF view of many preachers had some effect. Many preachers around the country began speaking about "Visiting" forums on the net such as the FFF. I know several who said even if it's true you don't need to know about it. The anti facebook / internet attitude was strong for a while. I know folks who no-longer have Facebook because of such preaching.

My attitude is one of balance as with many things. I do think the ANTI-FFF preaching did have some effect on the numbers. I also agree that there are many more outlets to express ones opinion these days. We must always remember though IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NUMBERS.

Relevant phrases are showing up in Google that pertain to IFB issues. The word is getting out and a significant amount of people are coming.

If only Hyles had this kind of reach!
