How many of you practice these commands of the LORD? Of feasting and partying and rejoicing.

Deu 14:26  And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household, (KJV)

We typically invite 20-30 neighbors and friends when we do this, although our seder meals tend to be more intimate with only a dozen or so (but quite a bit more elegant).

That was for those without the Holy Spirit of God.  Wine was a grace of God to the people to enjoy the fruit and the temporary relief it brought when they were without the Holy Spirit and the benefits of the new and true fruit of the Spirit which we are now allowed to partake.  These make the effects of that wine pale in comparison.  Of course it was never for Kings, Princes or Priests which we who are in Christ now called.  Imagine if we only taught wine was a grace of God for the men who did not yet have the spirit of God instead of teaching it was always verboten and leaving our young people wondering why we were lying all these years about what the Bible said about it.  Wine a Grace of God and picture of the Fruit of the Spirit to Come fulfilled in the Holy Spirit of God.  We teach that animal Sacrifice was done away with in Christ and we don't see a lot of teens sneaking out to sacrifice a lamb now do we.  ok I understand that strictly teaching it won't prevent alcohol consumption but lying about it will have them questioning if anything we taught was true.

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. (1 Timothy 4:1-5 ESV)

Really.  Did I forbid Alcohol?  I think every nonbeliever should have use of this grace if they refuse the real Spirit of God which gives everything the bottle gives and more in abundance.

I have studied this in great detail.  No one ever taught this to me.  I believe because everybody has their fears on one side or the other but I will expound if anyone wants to hear it.  We must understand that we are doing a great disservice to our young people by not dealing with the verses in the OT that do not support our position today.  We must rightly divide scripture and be clear.

You provided commentaries regarding a chapter and verse that is unrelated to I Timothy 4:1-3, all of which was conjecture.  And you add this conjecture and speculation as authoritative, just so you can excuse drinking alcohol.  Of course even if I were to allow your speculative rabbit chasing as a possibility it still doesn't further the concept of drinking alcohol recreationally one iota, as "taking a little wine for the stomach" is obviously meant some sort of medicina/therepeutic sense, not poundin' down a cold one with the homies.

Let me correct myself.  How egotistical it would be to make such a statement and not correct this.  No Human taught this to me.  I trust that as I study the word of God the Holy Spirit speaks and reveals, teaching me and each of us.  I have made a grave error by that statement and wish to correct it.  I wish not to take the credit nor glory.

There isn't anything to exegete.  I objected to your use of I Timothy 4:1-3 (specifically singling out only one of Paul's admonitions from the list he gave Timothy) and your claim that Timothy was in error.  You left that context completely and fled to another chapter, then to commentaries which were built on conjecture.  That isn't exegesis, it's speculation.  No need to exegete that which is mis-applied and out of context.
