How to Succeed at God's Work

Praise, you write "You're making the assumption that action..... equals....... God's approval. Its a mistake that you're making in many of your posts." I have to give you a negative on that, Brother. I teach that God's blessing produces success, and it does.

Action alone can be good or evil--we have people on this forum who are active in their disobedience to God's commands not to judge, speak evil of the brethren, and scorn. And then, there are the actions of Paul, who worked harder than them all; but it wasn't Paul, it was God's grace that drove him to take so much action.

Do you remember when Paul spoke of the Jew having a zeal for God but not according to knowledge? Make an application. Yes. Paul worked HARD. So did those who opposed him. In fact, those who opposed him were rather successful at times. They even took his life. Some would say..... by your own standard, Paul was defeated by the success of others.

Readers, the Bible lists tremendous blessings to those who have wisdom, and I'm going to show you from Scripture how to get wisdom. But I need to explain something first.

God has blessed me with a lot of readers for these series, along with a handful of scorners who follow along to mock God's promises. Proverbs 14:6 tells us " A scorner seeks wisdom and does not find it," The blessings of wisdom are not for scorners. The Scriptures tell us that God WANTS you to be a success in your Christian service, and these scorners are united in their anger at that teaching, as well as being united in their failure at serving God.

You can have the success that comes from being blessed by God, and you can have the success that comes from disobeying His commands not to scorn. But you can't have both.

You are a pompous jack-ass!

Balaam writes "You are a pompous jack-ass!"

Balaam, for years now you have traveled around the FFF, accusing people of mental illness and stupidity. Romans 2:1 states that you are describing yourself, and a review of your posts will confirm that. Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and your mouth constantly speaks of a lack of sanity and intelligence.

The cure for your problem is wisdom. Among other things, wisdom will open the pathway for you to get knowledge, understanding, discernment, and other virtues. But these virtues are not available to you, because "a scorner seeks wisdom and finds it not."

Wrong again! You are absolutely the ONLY one I accused of mental illness. And you are proving that I am correct!

And actually, it was someone else who first told you that you needed to get on your meds. I just picked up the mantle!

Wisdom gives you success, plus it is the key to other virtues that produce success. It is not available for scorners, so how do you get wisdom?

Proverbs 9:10 tells us ""The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,"

If you ever take a colored marker and go through the Bible, underlining verses that mention the fear of the Lord, you'll see that it produces a lot of success. And one result of the fear of the Lord is that it starts you out on wisdom. A Christian who calmly disobeys God, fearing no consequences, doesn't fear the Lord. Continuing in any sin prevents wisdom from beginning in your life.

If you are going to tell us how to succeed then you must also tell us what success looks like in God's work.
Thank You.

Of course, your post  is a result of logic...

Folks, I just got back from the Neighborhood Bible Study. God blessed us with 27 kids. We got locked out of the park where we had been having the service, and in the new park, the location we set up was already being used by the Catholics. But God took care of us.

Some of you wanted me to define success in God's work. That's only one.

You can have the success that comes from disobeying God's commands not to judge, speak evil, or scorn. And you can have the success that comes from being blessed by God. But you can't have both.

Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Balaam writes "And actually, it was someone else who first told you that you needed to get on your meds. I just picked up the mantle!"

I don't think so, Balaam. Mental illness and stupidity are both manias with you, and Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart the moth speaks. As bad as the scorners are, you are the only one who displays mental illness. Incidentally, your accusations of pride, ignorance, deceit, and hate also show up in your own posts.

Because neither God nor His Word will back them, the scorners are happy to have you as an ally. The ravings of a madman give them a credibility they do not actually have.

The cure for your problems, Balaam, is wisdom. It will open the door to other virtues, such as knowledge, discernment, and understanding. But wisdom is not available to scorners.

Thanks for the advice vince. I am a changed man! Now, I think you are wise and incredibly spiritual. I take back all the things I said about you. You don't have to take your meds. (if you don't want) You are not really a pompous jack-ass. You aren't really pious.

You are deeply spiritual and have decided to come down from your lofty heights of grandeur to reach down your hand to the rest of us spiritual imbeciles! For this I thank you!

Wisdom provides you with success, and it opens the way to other means of success.

Proverbs 13:20 tells us "He who walks with wise men will be wise," and verse 10 tells us "By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom."

Brother Hyles told us more than once, that if you are failing in your ministry, find someone who is succeeding and ask him for advice. Over the decades, I have found that to be good advice, but unsuccessful Christians reject it. Why? Because the successful Christian will tell them things they don't want to hear.

"Evil communications corrupt good manners." Listening to Christians who judge, speak evil, and scorn will make you the same failure that they are. Listening to people whom God is blessing will get blessings for you.
Meaning, you're going to repeat a fundamental point a bunch of times, go on the attack against anyone who dares to ask questions, then drop the thread entirely?
Definitely nailed point 1. I think I've read "Wisdom provides you with success" about 300 times now.

Listen, you just ought to be very thankful that Vince takes time from his busy teaching/lecture circuit schedule to spend some time on the fff instructing the rest of us peons! :o :o :o

Balaam, the Word of God says that fools make a mock of sin. That's why you're a valuable asset to the scorners, and that's why wisdom is not available for you.

Actually it appears that it is you and your "teaching" that is being made a mock of, because it doesn't seem to be very good or helpful.
