Biker said:Big difference between KJVO & KJVP. Most churches don't have the kahoonas to regulate their Elder/Pastors Bible bible versions as most men are real men, who wouldn't all such childlike control over them.Jet said:brianb said:I think by they he means the Bible teachers use only the KJV not every one in the congregation. I can assure you not every one in KJV churches use that version and most don't police it.
Yep that's excatly correct.
Looks like I created a bit of a stir here haha.
Out of curiosity what percentage of IFB churches in the USA would you estimate as being KJVO or KJVP? After reviewing the statements of faith of a wide variety of IFB churches across different states in Australia I estimate here its between 80% to 90%.
But anyhow, now that you see the problem, I would jet away from the IFB movement all together. Go Non Denominational instead
IFB & SBC. They have nothing to offer you 8)
I found it often ambiguous to be certain if a church was KJVO or KJVP based solely on their statement of faith so I lumped them all together as one for my purposes. What was interesting though, is the high degree of conformity between different IFB churches considering they pride themselves on being independent. If they were truly independent you would expect more variety amongst them.
Also I don't think denominationalism is entirely a bad thing. Denominational labels convey a lot of meaning and can help a person know if a church is right for them before stepping inside. When someone describes their church as non-denominational I'm not sure what to expect. I'm sure most non-denominational churches could find a denominational label that would describe them quite accurately.
