I think by they he means the Bible teachers use only the KJV not every one in the congregation. I can assure you not every one in KJV churches use that version and most don't police it.

Yep that's excatly correct.

Looks like I created a bit of a stir here haha.

Out of curiosity what percentage of IFB churches in the USA would you estimate as being KJVO or KJVP? After reviewing the statements of faith of a wide variety of IFB churches across different states in Australia I estimate here its between 80% to 90%.
Big difference between KJVO & KJVP. Most churches don't have the kahoonas to regulate their Elder/Pastors Bible bible versions as most men are real men, who wouldn't all such childlike control over them.
But anyhow, now that you see the problem, I would jet away from the IFB movement all together. Go Non Denominational instead
IFB & SBC. They have nothing to offer you  8)

I found it often ambiguous to be certain if a church was KJVO or KJVP based solely on their statement of faith so I lumped them all together as one for my purposes. What was interesting though, is the high degree of conformity between different IFB churches considering they pride themselves on being independent. If they were truly independent you would expect more variety amongst them.

Also I don't think denominationalism is entirely a bad thing. Denominational labels convey a lot of meaning and can help a person know if a church is right for them before stepping inside. When someone describes their church as non-denominational I'm not sure what to expect. I'm sure most non-denominational churches could find a denominational label that would describe them quite accurately.

Agreed. They don't seem very independent to me, at least not from what I read on this website. They are very enmeshed in each other, constantly worried about what the other is doing. Who cares what other churches are doing...IFB, SBC or not.

I don't believe denominationalism is necessarily a bad thing either, but at the same time, I am not sure giving a church a label beyond identifying it's location or something benign is biblical either. But that's my bad for not studying it yet. Either way, it's not likely a grievous sin in the scheme of things either so no worries.

BTW, Non-Denominational is most likely not what Bianca Chugger interprets it as, she is a very unique person here. With a very unique background.
And yes... Non-Denominational could mean their beliefs can be all over the board. But usually... there is a stability regarding the fundamentals without the childlike control you were referring to which makes them in essence, more stable imho. At least in our area. Regarding Baptists, who knows what they'll come up with as being sin next, maybe just wearing your typical bathing suit to a swim party.. Or sporting long hair on a man. There is some overwhelming urge to control people there which isn't biblical. The problem is....you just don't know what so called sin will be invented today, tomorrow, it can really get out of control. All too often they make up sins to get that person disfellowshipped. Of course there are good and bad baptist churches. We would probably agree with that

"...passages that may be incorrect or difficult in the KJV..."

"Thou shalt not kill."
"A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass"
"For the love of money is the root of all evil"
"O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels. Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged."

While IFB are "independent"....

The OP said "IB". Leave the "F" part out of it.

Why not give the exact same lesson, only using one version that every one can see?  Then, the student sees the truth for themself in the Scripture that they take with them rather than just in your lesson.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.

We all know this verse is often taught wrong.  With alternate translations, people can find out it doesn't mean what the pastor says it means.  Using only one version doesn't let the student see for himself/herself the truth in the Scripture.
I'm sorry, but the definition of "evil", and The Spirit saying " he's lying" were all I needed.

Why are you choosing to teach from a translation that is incorrect?

Your rants are becoming simply rants.

Juxtaposition speaks volumes.

You do not glean the idea of causation from the KJV's "becometh a snare."

I gave a solid exposition on Pro 29.25 and that was for a group of teens. None who expressed confusion. In fact, their faces and reaction was priceless. I love seeing teens, beaten down with a fear of man, understand they no longer need to build their own snare. They can trust the LORD who will make them inaccessible to the world.

If that is a rant, I suppose I am guilty of your definition of a rant.
"Becometh" denotes movement, "effect" if you will.  Hence, causation...no?

Interesting.  First, I chug Binaca, not Bianca.  Second, I am a guy.  ;D

I am curious why you believe me to be so unique.  Mind sharing?

I am unique here because you believe I am not a guy?

Not sure how you define "guy,"  but, anatomically speaking................I am a guy, not a gal.  8)
