I don't think it's a secret that Hyles hated Falwell for many reasons. I guess since Falwell wasn't one of the "Good 'Ol Boys", Hyles and his cronies took to bashing him.
 
This "Academic" article about Jack Hyles quotes Jerry Falwell as praising Hyles: "Falwell said that 'Hyles will be remembered as a leader in evangelism through the local church.' I read the book by Glover in my younger more robust fighting fundamentalist apologist years. Glover used to post here frequently of course and seemed plenty intelligent and nice enough, but his book smacked of innuendo and speculation and was light on convincing evidence in my not so humble opinion. I'd like to read it again now just to see if my perspective has changed.

Of course having said that, I am not claiming that there wasn't plenty of ammunition for those who did not agree with Hyles, and he did seem to foster a authoritarian cult-like man worship environment from some of the things that I'm aware of. The only time that I ever heard him speak in person was at a church in Delaware Ohio during a Revival midweek. When he came into the building it was like a rockstar entered the building and it made me uncomfortable and I politely told my pastor so.

Hyles going off on Liberty & Falwell going "accredited" was another grudge Jack carried with him to the end.

I found his book to be quite on the money....I have a copy of Glover's book, and I've had people from HAC/FBCH offer me in excess of $2K for it as they want to destroy it. I also have Vic Nischiks CD and some printouts. There has to be something to it if they're willing to keep upping the offer for these materials.
 
Jack's 70th birthday celebration. I bet some of you from HAC-FBC may remember this.

Without getting wordy, when you have closed the ranks so tight and won't listen to ANY criticism of your behavior/beliefs then the criticisms become a justifying mentality that you are being attacked by liberals and wannabes because you are doing right and they are a tool of da debil.
