Jack Schaap out of prison

Good for him. Perhaps he'll find a job doing something other than ministry. Perhaps, having been stripped of everything, he's found a new heart for God.

I'm sorry, but, I see no repentance in him. I seriously doubt that he is sorry for what he's done. Just another in a long line of IFB con artists. I don't believe he served a long enough amount of time in prison for what he's done.

Just for interest sake, what are you basing your thoughts on?

Because he was IFB, that means that he is automatically reprobate, no repentance for him, go strait to hell, don't pass go, don't collect $200.
That was my first thought after reading his post. 😉

Nobody here has stated he's going to hell. That's YOUR opinion and your attempt to put words in other people's mouths...Go figure. Nobody stated that it's just because he's IFB...that is ONE OF THE criteriums used to make the determination. He backed his late FIL's philandering, his ex-BIL's adultery, and actions, and was complicit in covering up for others as well. This makes him a con artist. If he's convinced a parole board that he's reformed enough to be out of prison after committing the felonious acts he has, then he's in line for an academy award. He fooled the people at FBCH/HAC...He became their pastor...UGH! I truly DO hope he's reformed, but, past history in these kinds of cases shows it's not likely. Until he's proven otherwise, I can't accept him as having been reformed.

Not only that, but he was extremely adept at twisting scripture to make it say things it didn't even hint at. For that reason alone, he should never step foot in a pulpit.

Jack O will start up a non-denominational "megachurch" in the future. Just wait. Most of the fallen "pastors" go right back to "ministry" after they failed/sinned. Perry Noble was relieved of his duties and started up "Second Chances" church. In Oklahoma City Mark Crow founded the "Victory Church" mega enterprise to compete with Craig Groeschel. Crow was caught in adultery, resigned from Victory and started another megachurch in the area. Blaine Bartel (despite his woke socialism) was fired for porn addiction/adultery and now he's in Kansas City as a "porn addiction" coach and "America's Greatest Comeback". Carl Lentz was fired but he's back in "ministry". So old Jack O will be looking to start up a big time church soon.

1. "I see no repentance in him" - Have you been in close contact with him? Repentance is a matter of the heart
2. "I seriously doubt he's sorry for what he's done." - Again, only he & God know this, though we could see fruits of this. However, I would think to be fair, we'd have to wait until he's been out of prison to see if that's the case
3. I don't believe he served a long enough amount of time..." - Again, this is highly subjective. I think 12 years for a 17 year old young lady is a pretty heavy sentence. No, I'm not blaming the victim. But, again, if I want to be objective, I must compare sentences others have received for the same crime. He definitely got an above average sentence.
Now, is he a believer? I actually would say yes. Why? Because it seemed like God has chastised him pretty severely.... As far as we know, this is the only case. There is another woman who claims that he "wanted" her but never touched her sexually.
I'm fully aware of his indiscretion in prison. I read where his doctor said he should be on meds, and if his meds would have been balanced, he would not have done this.
Again - I know this is very unpopular... I'm not saying this is what I think, but I am trying to be fair. I do hope that he can rectify his life to bring some glory to God in his sunset years.

Yes...with his ego & his misguided loyal fan base feeding it.
Change my mind.
I would think that #1 - He would be given the same "speech" Dave Hyles was given by security when he visited with Bevely Hyles; #2 - He would be greeted by about the same 5 people that greeted Dave Hyles (some posting FaceBook photos :) )

Nobody is against his being able to "rectify his life", as you put it. But, given the history of the coverups at his former church while he was pastor, and before, as he was complicit in covering up for his FIL and BIL, I doubt he will do so. If the judge and prison workers were able to see no repentance or remorse in him when he was denied early release per his request, to take care of his ailing parents, I would be led to believe he'd shown none. Am I questioning his salvation? No. It's not my place to try and determine whether he's truly saved or not. Again you state, "As far as we know this is the only case...." possibly so...but it's a good indication that it probably isn't as well. A high-profile pastor who takes an underage girl OUT OF STATE for sex has apparently thought about it a bit. It's clear you haven't dealt much with these kinds of things, whereas, others of us have. An offense against someone a person, as an adult AND a counselor, is unacceptable. In this modern-day, more liberal atmosphere, the prison sentence might have been acceptable...but reading back over some of the sentences for crimes of this sort throughout the early 20th century and before, this was quite lenient. You're always entitled to your opinion, no matter how ludicrous it is.

Do you think he is that brazen?
If people question the sincerity of Schaap's repentance or the discernment of the Hyles sycophants, you have to recognize that there's a few precedents set: A. V. Ballenger, Dave Hyles, Joe Combs, Jacky-boy himself...

The New Apostolic Reformation movement is going to embrace him and he will be preaching for them soon. Kenny has already made the move.

Their minions include the likes of:
Mike Jones
Mike Bickel
Paula White
Bethel, Redmond CA
Hillsong
the Kansas City Prophets
IHOP
The Torronto Blessing
The Pensocola Laughing Revivals

Here is a list of these heretics and Kenny has been studying with this group the last 3+ years going to KC and their conventions practicing their 5-fold tounges/healing ever since. They are no longer baptist but full fledged charamaniac blasphemers.

I see what you mean, but I honestly don't see Schaap showing up at 1st Baptist. I might be wrong, but I don't think so.
