First, you have to get over your emotions and see what God says first. Nowhere in Scripture taught that babies get a free pass into Heavan. The verse I pointed out in Romans spells out exactly that It is God's devine choice to whom He chooses. God's purpose to His own glory outweighs how we feel.Tim said:praise_yeshua said:Tim said:What does scripture teach?
Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
And the soul will be eternally in heaven or hell ... kind of makes me wonder where our soul comes from in the first place. Is that developed within the womb as the life grows? Does God add it at some point? No. I don't have any thoughts on that one (shocked?).
I love Children and when I realize some believe that a simple baby could die and go to hell it really messes with my mind. I naturally assume all infants go to heaven. It seems that way based on what happened with David and Bathsheba .... but that is more an assumption when applied to all infants universally.
For me - in some ways - the key to changing what I believe sits at the topic of children and what happens when they die. To believe in free grace sets my mind at ease since i just assume all children didn't have the option to choose. But - election - hard core anyway ... well ... that little child never would have chosen God anyway.

It's not up to the child, but God's purpose that decides

Men and brothers, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us to this day. Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; He seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus has God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this, which you now see and hear. For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he said himself, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit you on my right hand, Until I make your foes your footstool.
You need to be careful CU in what you call worthless, you haven't supplies Scripture otherwise to back up your point yet.praise_yeshua said:Recovering IFB said:First, you have to get over your emotions and see what God says first. God doesn't take glory in such things. Your image of god is nothing more than a worthless idol.

Can you disprove the Jacob- Esau analogy provided by Paul in Romans?

Where did David say that?
David said:
But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.
Peter said of David,
Men and brothers, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us to this day. Though I lean toward children who die go to heaven, I believe David was referring to the grave and hence cannot be used as proof text.

Because he is an Open Theistpraise_yeshua said:Recovering IFB said:Boyd? Seriously?
Seriously!
Why don't you take him seriously?
Do you expect me to take Piper seriously? Piper was so "serious" about Boyd that he tried to have him fired. Why are you not taking what he says seriously?
If you beleive in open theism, which is where Arminianism eventually leads yoursc2a said:It's simple. No one is as smart as PY...
