I will take your word for it, as I ain't about to start listening to rap, gospel or otherwise. :D

I will admit that I am a little skeptical because we've seen such flash in the pan pronouncements by celebrities before, only to turn out to be much ado about nothing.  A lot of the press I have seen (like his wife Kim) has used a ton of Chrisitanese to describe his experience, which sounds good on the surface, but causes me to believe some "coaching" and grooming is possibly going on here.

And Kanye said he wouldn't be able to do another album like this because it's too expensive.  But with Dre on board I guess he could.

Those other "Christians" didn't have people to vouch for them. Kanye has had his father, his wife, a relatively unknown pastor before all this named Adam Tyson say he's the real deal because they see how much he has changed morally - he used to cuss up a storm - one of his songs from last year was one of the most profane songs I've ever read - he removed that song from his youtube channel. He has told people not to cuss around him - I think he'll learn as he grows that you can't control people's mouths, you have to be patient.  He also gave up pornography which he says started when he was five years old. On Keeping up with Kardashians he told Kim that it hurts his soul and spirit to see her dressed like that.  Also his daughter North can't wear makeup anymore. Before his conversion he didn't care.  He even considered quitting rap because he thought it was the devil's music - that was short-lived because he hadn't heard of Christian rap.  It was after that he started to transform the Yandhi album to Jesus is King.

I hope that is all true and his conversion is indeed legit.  Last night I heard a little excerpt from his Osteen recent Sunday visit.  In that video he is shown claiming that he is the greatest artist God ever created and now he is on God's side.  Maybe humility is the next discipleship lesson that Tyson can help Kanye with.  ;D

I'm not sure Tyson is still discipling him. If he is it must be over the internet because I don't see how he can go to his church when he's traveling from place to place every week.  Wait he wants to start a church in Calabasas and he's traveling from church to church? It's like he's an IFB missionary on deputation. 

I think he's been influenced by the prosperity/self esteem gospel through guys like Rich Wilkerson, Jr. (he 's a relative of David Wilkerson who preached against the faith teachers) and he obviously listens to Osteen. This has been going on for years before his conversion.  Wilkerson even helped Kanye with his blasphemous Yeezus tour.

i haven't heard Kanye's new Christian album. I haven't been impressed with his work before, though I am something of a rap fan. Only one of his songs has made my playlist.

I have no opinion on the authenticity of his Christian conversion. I suppose time will tell.

I wonder if he's serious about running for president in 2024?

I've listened to it. The choir is really good but Kanye and the other rappers (there's two on one song that have been rapping since the 90's longer than Kanye) are not as good as they used to be (age can do that you know). 
 
I'm kind of watching the Nebuchadnezzar opera now on "TIDAL". It's not what I expected. For one thing Kanye is just narrator and he reads Daniel (KJV). Other than some jazzy music at the end it wasn't a rap music show - no rap at all (so it wasn't like a Andrew Lloyd Webber musical with rap instead of rock). It was more of a traditional stage choir style of music.
