Ha…I never thought of that name like that before. That is Cross Creek, which is both a physical creek and a tiny community in North Central Florida. The creek connects two large lakes, the largest being Orange Lake, which is where I went duck hunting a few weeks ago. Two famous books (and a movie) are based on the creek and lake by Marjorie Rawlings: Cross Creek and The Yearling, which won her the Pulitzer Prize.so...... is that the name of the creek?.... or a sign telling swamp folk to wade across there?... and maybe expect the trail to resume on the other side?......... i don;t think i would though ..... looks like a place where gators and other reptilian creatures would be hiding out.....

OK, you might have to explain this a little better for those of us who have no experience. The wood is the jig? What makes it Flemish?
And here in the LC Valley of WA/ID, I was mowing my lawn on December 20 this year. My lawn finally went dormant a week ago.Photo I took in southern Georgia near the Florida border early this morning. Palm trees with snow.

We have freeze warnings tonight, but by the weekend it’s supposed to be mid to upper 70sAnd here in the LC Valley of WA/ID, I was mowing my lawn on December 20 this year. My lawn finally went dormant a week ago.
Very true. In my experience, the teenagers who normally dress in shorts when it’s 30 degrees outside are the same ones who dress in jeans and a hoodie when it’s 90 degrees. Maybe Darwin was on to something after all….
