Perhaps to some people. Usually people who say that fall into one of two camps. The first is evangelical Christians that realize that a GOP that refuses to pick its battles and compromise on certain cultural issues will become unelectable, handing all future power to the Democrats. We are already seeing this start to play out. The church pulpit is the place to be uncompromising, but when running for political office you have to adapt to the culture and people you are running to lead.
The second group are economic conservatives who dislike the Democrats and would like to support the GOP, but are either liberal on social issues or see them as a matter of individual choice.

My IFB preacher, during America-centric sermons, would read prophecies foretelling Israel's destruction out of books like Jeremiah and Isaiah but substitute America for Israel. I have also heard preachers go as far as to say America is today's Israel and the state that currently exists in the middle east is a counterfeit.

Nah, I'm part of the God crowd that defends the rights given to us by Him to live free with our guns, and everything else if needs be. It's not right or left, it is right or wrong and, yes, I'm on the right side of that spectrum.

Recovering is one who enjoys the benefits of our freedoms while disdaining those who celebrate them....and like you, sacrificed in order to assure he/we have them.

What he said...I haven't been a part of a political party for more than 25 years now. In relation to eternity I unashamedly believe the Scripture. In relation to our country I am unashamedly a supporter and defender of the Constitution. I like that both direct us to God who gave us the freedoms we have as human beings!

^^^Bingo.
Me too, brother. I've been active in the Constitutional party for over twenty years. Have been playing the lesser of two evils game since Ronald Reagan left office.

I have gone the Independent route...in our State it allows us to vote in primaries for whoever we want. But most of all I could not find a home with the Republicans...or certainly with the Democrats. Today, I believe there is a dime worth of difference between the two.

I have always been interested in politics.
Good or bad, politicians become legislators, rulers, governors and greatly impact our lives....and the lives of our children and grandchildren.
In my younger years, I was a democrat....voted for John Kennedy.
However, the Democrats, like the IFBs left me.
I am relatively active in Republican politics now.
I am working for a friend who is running for congress. He defeated a Republican establishment candidate in the primary. I would submit that it does matter and every concerned citizen should vote...and vote intelligently.
A Democrat can't get out of his primary without a pro abortion and pro gay marriage position.
I would not vote for a dog catcher candidate with either position.
I don't understand how Smellin or any other Christian could, either.

Where have I EVER tried to push anybody to vote for any particular candidate or party?
You give me a lot more credit/power than I have or even want.
Yeah Smellin', don't you know if Jesus was on Earth today, he would be a Limbaugh listening, Hannity cheering, Faux News watching kinda' guy!
You know "I will establish my church, and America, that the gates of hell will not prevail against it, or communism, or illegals, or dark skinned people! And keep America's free market capatalism flowing, and her interest abroad as she nation builds, speading "democracy" abroad"

So you were a squid on a Large Sitting Duck (and I know the difference between LPDs and LSDs but the Marines I worked with classified them the same). That's not exactly what I was referring to since past service is of little consequence with your present attitude (e.g. Smedley Butler and Benedict Arnold).
And I'm one of the many here on the FFF who are for the liberty the Constitution provides to US citizens but not the license which is produced when the low-life liberals pervert it.
My present attitude? Why? Because I'm not a gun toting, Limbaugh listening, right wing Republican like you? Oh my, I can't be as masculine as you, you are such a manly man!Green Beret said:
Ok sarcasm off!, no, I don't believe for one second that 'Murcia is God's special place for man. Just because we have been blessed, it not because we're special or we have done anything great, it's just because he blessed us. Sort of like your salvation, you didn't do anything, God did!
