It would take a "nut" to say something like this....

Heroin was invented as a pain reliever. Quite effective at it too.

Lots of pain meds are still based on derivatives of opium (heroin is such a derivative). 

There's also a drug that is often used to reduce nausea for patients getting Chemo with THC as the active ingredient.  THC is what gets you high in pot.

The war on drugs has, in this country, often been a war on doctors who treat chronic pain patients.

If someone commits a crime, treat them as a criminal, not an "addict".

People smoking it are able to digest food, hence, able to get nutrients in to body to fight their ailments.
