Standards of dress

No, roles in a home I believe is a matter of the heart.

My wife wears pants and she performs her biblical role supremelly. I attempt to perform my biblical role as well. Her mother wears pants and and both her father and mother are biblical in their role as well.

The truth is that if I went home and talked to my wife and explained to her that I believe that her wearing pants is not what I believe God has for us, she would start wearing dresses only.

Roles in homes are a matter of the heart.

And if your wife walked down the street in a mini skirt and halter top and still performed her Biblical roll supremely would everything be o.k.?

Oops!  I've used this illustration before.  :)  :)

Ah. A conversation on gender roles that is based on the Bible and not modern, Western worldviews. That would be interesting.

I agree. Start a thread and maybe it will lure your buddy Alayman back. I miss him and I know you do too.  :)

Jack Schaap once made the comment:  "When it comes to women's dress, I am more Muslim than Baptist."

Apparently a burqa is easier to take off.

If she was wearing that to attract my eyes and not the eyes of other men, sure all is well.

Just kidding.

On a serious note, it's evident you equate pants on women with mini skirts and halter tops.

Unless you are just joking?

No! No! No! That means she would have to go to a store and BUY a mini skirt and halter top, and someone might see her do that and think she is going to wear it in public!  That would be a bad testimony for whatever church she goes to....er....I mean God!  Not only that...that is money she COULD HAVE and SHOULD HAVE put into the offering so the pastor could eat at Longhorn instead of McDonalds.  Geez!  What are you thinking, man???????

I love rolls.

That would explain why you married who you did.  (giggle)
Yup. Nothing like homemade bread from someone taught by the Amish. ;)

That was my sad attempt at humor.  Apparently it didn't work.  Ha!

If two have become one flesh, how can there be significance in roles?

My wife is a much better cook so she cooks the meals. I do much better with finances so I do the bills. She has more time and so she does my laundry (kids do their own). I do better saving and couponing so I do the grocery shopping. She keeps the calendar. I mow the lawn. We both clean the house. We both parent our kids.

I'm not sure how the roles of one spouse are more significant than the roles of the other.

No, I understood. LOL!!  I am attempting at humor.

By saying I'm sorry what was that?
