Politicians often campaign on the ambiguous platform of "vote for change". That is the general sentiment behind those who rally behind all three "Washington outsiders". Change for change sake is just dumb, or gullible. Many of the things that Trump say sounds good, but the real question is often pressed upon him about how he would accomplish his claims, but all too often he comes back with empty platitiudes or vague mumbo-jumbo. Don't get me wrong, I'd take any of those on the stage ahead of Billary, but I'm not fooled into thinking Trump's bluster has any substantive backing to it.
Actually, it was Obama who campaigned on ambiguous "change". Trump and Cruz have actually been specific about SOME things.
I think one of the reasons people have confidence in Trump when he's NOT specific, is because we trust him to surround himself with the most talented people. IMO, that is a Trump strength, and he occasionally talks about it. When he says he knows the best negotiators for trade deals, I believe him, especially when he also says these are not nice people, but they know how to get the job done. This is actually a Biblical concept:
Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no guidance the people fall, But in abundance of counselors there is victory.
Obama surrounds himself with token minorities, yes men/women, and ideologues like himself, not people who are best equipped for the job. And since they're his cronies, he holds none of them accountable to anything when they fail. I don't really want Trump as president, but whoever gets elected, I hope they'll adopt Trump's attitude of, "You did a lousy job. You're fired."
