Trump 2016

I don't often agree with Sen. Lindsay Graham, but when he said Trump was the most uninformed person on foreign policy to ever run for president, I had to agree with him. Carson might be a close second -- his heart is in the right place, but he doesn't know enough for the job.

So who could I support? Almost any Republican nominee except those two. All the rest in the top eight (the ones in the main FBN debate last week) are better.

lemme guess, your preference amongst all those others would be for Rand?  ;)

Yes, Rand Paul is my first choice, but I also like Fiorina and Kasich.  And I might even consider Rubio or Bush, who has begun to seem alive and interested.

Obama was more uninformed than Trump when he took office.  He specifically chose Biden as his running mate to offset that (at least in the public eye).

I don't want Trump as president, but the fact that he may be uninformed about foreign policy isn't why.  He can always surround himself with those who are informed.

True that lack of expertise can be made up by good advisers, IF one is willing to listen to them. In that respect, Trump has the same problem as Obama, a narcissistic personality disorder. Both can never seem to admit they're wrong about anything.

I get the feeling its going to end up being Trump with Cruz as VP.

Biden was a joke on foreign affairs.... However, he was probably right about Iraq. I need to be broken up into at least three separate countries. Obama didn't listen to him on much of anything!!!

Carson drops the "Jesus" name around and all the Christians begin cheering and fawning.  Doctrine be damned, because my IFB-X friends either don't know or don't care that Carson and his wife (and his mother) are life-long members of the Seventh Day Adventist church.

SDAs used to be a cult when I was growing up IFB.  Maybe things have changed?

Agreed. I get tired of all those pandering candidates. They show up at some person's church and they immediately become their candidate of choice. It happened in my area. Makes me sick that people are so easily influenced. This is one of the reason I refuse to support Huckabee. He did the exact same thing.

Yes. SDA is a cult. They refuse to acknowledge that Christ is the fulfillment of all things. Even the Sabbath.

They are horribly wrong on prophecy and several "other things". Ellen G. White was considered a prophetess.

Yeah.... He gets one schedule everyday from now to the end of the primary just like Carson and Huckabee!!1  8)

Trump nailed it tonight on 20/20!!

If you want Hillary to win, the best way to make that happen would be to nominate Trump or Carson, neither of whom have the level of political experience or expertise to take her on. They do well with the Republican party base, but will fail in the general election.

I'm not putting this out as a debate proposition. Just that I've been involved in a lot of campaigns, and that's my hunch.

Read yesterday Trump named Cruz  for a Trump/Cuz ticket, 2016.

I could live with that.

Even Russell Moore of the SBC sees the danger of Trump, specifically to the freedom of religion:

Donald Trump is saber-rattling about shutting down mosques in this country, which, as somebody who works every day on religious liberty, I?m astounded that we could have a presidential candidate of either party speaking in such a way. Evangelicals should recognize that any president who would call for shutting down houses of worship ? is the sort of political power that can ultimately shut down evangelical churches.

If Trump is able to get elected and introduce this, at some point down the line the opponents of Christianity will have a foot in the door to take away our freedom to worship as we please.

Moore, Mohler, Land, my kind of folk on the religious liberty subject, of which I am likewise a HUGE proponent.  But if a religion, by and large (and that's the key to my position, by and large), is a national security threat to its very own people because it is subverting the safety of its citizens, namely by grievously injuring and killing them, then ultimately I wouldn't have a problem with it no matter whether it was Abu Muhamed Aziz Osama or Fred Felps.
