What I saw in church this week..............

See, pictures like this make me seriously doubt the claim that attendance has risen to surpass the Schaap era. I know it was a Sunday night and super bowl Sunday at that, but look at the sparse crowd. Did that happen on Super Bowl Sunday when Schaap was there (I don't know...I am really asking)?

My guess would be no. I know that Schaap would have been preaching against missing church for the Super Bowl.  I'm not sure how Wilkerson approaches it.  I'm also interested to hear what the weather was like.  I know they were suppose to get some snow and wind.

I would guess that their actual attendance is closer to 5k than to 16k.
Not that 5k is anything to sneeze at... :)

That would be a pretty large gap from the numbers in the article.  I would think BGW would have an idea.

I wonder what a decent guess for the Sunday AM auditorium attendance would be?

IF they have anywhere near 10k it would require a HUGE bus attendance. The other churches in the CBS article run no buses and have auditoriums which are packed to the rafters in multiple services each week...(at least those Im familiar with). Also, the offering figures (on the high side) reflect an attendance of between 5-6k based on average per capita income.

BGW perhaps can shed some light on the subject...again, 5k is nothing to sneeze at, it?s 4k more than we have each week...

Does anyone know the auditorium?s seating capacity?

It looks like they have no more than 2K in this auditorium, and that is a generous number.  The Spanish ministry might run probably 1000.  If they had 100 busroutes and averaged, say 50 per route, that's 5K, and that I feel is being generous, but, many of those bus adults may be in the auditorium for A church. There are many other and various children's and other ministries which might equal 1000.  So, all told, I think a generous attendance total mibht be between 7000 - 9000 max.  Again, I think this is being generous.  As I counted around the auditorium, I think 1500 might be more like a real count.

We had the commander of the International Space Station at church today. He unashamedly read the Christmas story from Scripture on Christmas morning, which was broadcast all over the world when he was in space.

Absolutely!

It's in the library, right next to the Living Bible companion version called, The Bible for Fishermen.

BG, my wife and I were watching the live stream tonight, and your song and your singing group did an excellent job.  Great harmony and a great message was given through your song!  It was a true blessing.
