When We Fail

Folks, I've been busy doing other things, but this idea won't leave me. God tells us that if we turn away our ears from hearing His law, even our prayers will be an abominations.

Are you forbidden by St. Augustine to believe that God so loved the world? That Jesus enlightens every man who comes into the world? That the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men? That Jesus draws all men to Himself? Then you're going to have trouble getting your prayers answered.

You might want to check that thread on Abandon Ship!

Neither will these questions.

Or these ones:

You start out this thread attempting to explain "how to deal with failed Christians." However,  you do not define what you mean by "failure." What is your definition of failure?

Since you have claimed that the FFF is "failing," how does the definition in the previous question apply to the FFF?

What makes you think that the owners/administrators/moderators of the FFF define success and failure in the same way?
We've covered two reasons why Christians fail: They don't do the things that bring success, and they don't understand why they fail. Here's a third one: they refuse to serve unless they are rulers. They don't have to be THE ruler, but they have to have ruling power. They cannot  be one of the "little people" who do all the work.

Their thinking is that the people with higher positions are the superior Christians, when Jesus explained that the greatest among us are the servants. Some will actually explain that Christians who win people to Christ, serve others, etc., are called to do that because they are inferior Christians. Superior Christians are called to rule over them and take the credit.

As ungodly as this sounds, we have constant problems here in Mexico with missionaries who believe this.

Is this why you refuse to answer Ransom, too busy?

I finally figured out why Vince ignores Random.  Random is purely nothing more than a scoffer.  He takes comments out of context.  He is dishonest.  Communicating with Random -- answering his questions -- is akin to casting one's pearls before swine.  Random is a troll on his own forum.

Are you saying these questions aren't legitimate demands for explanation?

Thrilled that they were actually missionaries, a middle-aged American couple arrived to work at a Christian orphanage. They immediately started fouling up scheduled events by starting events of their own at the same time. One well-organized outing had to be cancelled while the wife stood shrieking at us because she was going to cut the boys' hair instead.

They finally got run off, disrupted both the Baptist and Assemblies of God churches, and decided to leave after six month. On their last Sunday in Mexico, they attended the Baptist church. I was teaching the children's church that day, and I had no helpers. I pleaded with the wife to help. After a dramatic and grief-stricken spiel about how humiliating it is to work for me, she agreed.

It was by far one of the best children's church services I have ever seen, and it was thanks to her help. Having failed everywhere as a ruler, when she became a servant, she succeeded.

Now, that I can understand!  Good post, Vince.  P.S. Why don't you respond to Ransom?

Jo, Thank you for your kind words.

I ignore Ransom because the Bible tells us that a scorner has no wisdom, and is not a disciple. God has never given Ransom an audience. If I share the audience that God has given me with Ransom, then I am doing something that God does not do.

Ransom is a believer. He is not a scorner.

As you are aware, a number of members who have left this forum have pointed to Ransom's hostility to God's people as proof that he is not saved. I make no comment on that, but am willing to state that you cannot prove your statement from Ransom's posts.

However, Ransom's posts, going back to the beginning of this forum, prove that he is a scorner.

You call him an "unbeliever" when you call him a "scorner."

 • Proverbs 24:9: The thought of foolishness is sin: And the scorner is an abomination to men.
 • Isaiah 29:20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, And all that watch for iniquity are cut off:

Calling people "scorners" is an IFB habit for attempting to shut the mouths of those who dare ask questions. If there are answers, then they could easily be given. It is an unfortunate IFB carryover and abuse of biblical language. It should not be directed toward believers.

A few people have left this forum for various reasons... I know that I recently encouraged some to leave.

Isn't it about time the Vinnie was given a little bit of "encouragement"?

Sorry, FSSL, but both verses that you quote DO apply to Ransom.

2 Corinthians 2:15 certainly does not apply to Random: "For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:"

Sweet savour?  Random?  How about putrid?

When it comes to Christianity, Random is a fraud.

How do you know what Christianity is? That's odd! One post you deny Scripture and the next you use it to condemn somebody?
Who's the fraud now?

I presume that by your use of the word "scripture" you refer to the Bible.  I have been a student of the Bible for years, and continue to be so to this day.  It is a fascinating book, written by fallible men, full of fanciful fables and myths.  The verse I used from 2 Corinthians is apropos to Random, don't you agree?

Too bad for FiZZLe and Random that I know the Bible better than they do.

And too bad that you are not on my level of intelligence.  No where in my comments do you find where I "deny scripture," as you put it.  I deny God, yes; scripture, no.

I apologize for all my shortcomings, of which I have many, and of which I am confident you have none.

Cowardly Vince's unanswered questions just keep mounting.

Though you don't know me personally, you claim that "God has never given Ransom an audience." Are you now claiming supernatural, prophetic insight? How do you know what God has given me or not?
And, of course, we can't forget these questions, either, which have yet to be answered.
