When We Fail

Recovering, I have already told you that God has not authorized me to be a mediator in the conflict between you two. By disobeying God's commands not to speak evil of the brethren, you are able to disguise your attacks on His word as attacks on me. I'm going to have to pull the plug on this.

Readers, Calvinists are pretty strong in their rejection of God's Word, and it helps to understand why. I have started a short series on the history of unconditional election at http://www.fundamentalforums.org/calvinism-arminianism/the-history-of-unconditional-election/
Sources Vince, where are your sources? I called you on a comment you made and challenged you to provide sources for your comment. Then you erect a straw man to make the argument about God's Election?

Again, provide the source where Augustine and Calvin told their people not to read Proverbs 3! Put up or shut up!
Sheesh Ransom, now I know how you feel....

We've already seen how his "History of Unconditional Election" will go, based on past experience with a "History of Irresistible Grace." That thread is a dumpster fire.

There will be assertions made. Undocumented pseudohistory. Contradictory claims. He will be called out on his absurd claims. He will ignore all criticisms and blithely forge ahead.

This, of course, is assuming Vince learns to be a good netizen and start interacting with people, and then I'll let him post on his thread again.

He really missed his calling. A life in politics would have served a tremendously. His ability to shun criticism is remarkable. Most people want to interact with it and put things to rest, not Senator Massi.

Did Saint Augustine ever become a Christian? No.
Did he ever become a Catholic? No

O didn't see anything in there where he instructed people to not read Proverbs 3, try again.

Could you give the link to where anybody on this forum said that Saint Augustine instructed people not to read Proverbs 3?

Recovering, I'm going to give you some good advice from God's Word, hoping you won't reject it. "Evil communications corrupt good manners." You've already shown yourself getting steadily worse in the last couple of weeks by following Ransom's example.

And if you keep following Ransom's sins, you're going to corrupt yourself even more. Since you're already in a conflict with God over words, you've gone too far already.

"But St. Augustine forbids you to believe that verse. You are commanded to accept his blend of paganism and Christianity instead of trusting entirely in God's Word. " Vince Massi
How do you know why Augustine believes unless you read something he wrote on, what was the source of this information where you know he said this?

1 peter 5:5-6 gives us another way to gain humility.

"Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for " God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time."

The two verses blend submitting to each other with humbling yourself before God.

Over the decades, I have observed the difference between charismatic rebels and Baptist rebels. Charismatic rebels announce that God has raised them to leadership, and the current leadership in now in rebellion. They will then begin appointing their supporters to leadership positions.

Baptist rebels will form a group that will threaten to cause a church split if they don't get their way. If it works, they claim that they have been appointed by the leadership to seize power from people whom God has given successful ministries to.

It may have happened, but I know of no instance in which people who seized power either way made a success of the ministries they had seized.

Right around here . . .

I had not associated Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship's rejection of Proverbs 3:5-6 with their Calvinism. . . .

But St. Augustine forbids you to believe that verse.

So put up or shut up, Massi. Where does St. Augustine forbid anyone to believe Proverbs 3:5-6?

Quotes please, or you're a liar.

What's wrong with this RT 70? Why is this bad? After all isn't this all relative anyway? How do you justify this Rt70? Is this what they taught you guys at HAC? Throw out accusations and not back them up?

Psssst, your "Image of God" is showing.......

Excuse me, Folks. I realize that Ransom and Recovering are busy describing themselves, but I need to ask Dan a question.

Dan, I don't understand your post. Whom do you want a quote from?

And Readers, you might want to check http://biblehub.com/kjv/2_timothy/2-24.htm

Note to the atheist fool: This is what "I know you are but what am I?" looks like.

Sort of a boring one-trick pony, too.

You should be aware that I subtract about 10 IQ points from my impression of you every time you post that.
