    Hammond Baptist PE Teacher -90’s

I thought of someone today that I hadn’t thought of in a while and it led me to this place. Does anyone remember a HAC graduate that taught PE at Hammond Baptist during the early to mid nineties. If I remember correctly his last name was Rich, was from Oregon and had a son who died in a lawn...

    Who Is Leaving HAC Soon?

So then, what happened to Jarod Rhodes?

...and every time you see the word baptism. The unregenerate Anglicans refused to translate the word.

This verse or word could be better translated....

From a recent study, John 14:1 "Ye believe in God, believe also in me". Both verbs, 'believe in God', and 'believe also in me' are the same. However, the verb has two different possible moods, indicative(fact) and imperative(command). There are then four translative possibilities in this...

Does FBC/HAC have a retirement plan?

I was told (who really knows the truth?) by someone very close to the situation, that until that Monday evening all they had was a picture of the girl kissing Schaap while sitting on a 'gator' at his farm house along with the knowledge that he had broken many of his counseling policies. His...

Does FBC/HAC have a retirement plan?

I was under the impression, that CW and the other two staff members went to the sheriff first thing Tuesday morning,  after everything had come to light  Monday evening at Mark Duff's house. Also, the other staff member had already been reassigned, to his new role, the description of which led...

What is the new pastor to do?

The church can't move on until it deals with its past. If there was sin, heresy, unscriptural practices and philosophies present in the church before his tenure, I believe to properly lead the church forward, the pastor should lead the church to recognize and repent of these issues.

    HAC/IFB Trying the Spirits

I am not familiar enough with another movement, to answer.

    HAC/IFB Trying the Spirits

In his book 'Strange Fire' John MacArthur evaluates the charismatic movement using 1 John 4 as a test. He credits Jonathon Edwards for using the same test to evaluate what he saw and heard during the Great Awakening and recommends the same test be used to evaluate every 'supposed' movement of...

    Did it really harm us?

I'm not sure you can separate hindsight from the question, 'Did it harm us'? I would also contend that hindsight is the only perspective that truly answer the question.

    Did it really harm us?

If you attended HAC, you found nothing that resembles true authentic Christianity. Would you find some good people? Absolutely. True, authentic, biblical Christianity? Absolutely not. And that is why the works of the flesh have been revealed to run rampant through the place, from its early...

    Did it really harm us?

There were those who attended HAC while coming from churches of another stripe, thus probably arriving with more depth. There were some who came from unchurched families, thus probably not so enamored with the leadership. But some grew up in a similar IFB culture. They were taught to never...

Greg Boyd and The Myth of a Christian Nation

My problem is not with Christianity in politics, but with politics in Christianity. To many confuse Republican values with Christian values.

    What is the "Grace life?"

All James is telling us is, we will never see faith without works. Faith always produces works. You can however have works independent of faith...this is legalism/law. "But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. Wherefore? Because...
