I've never boycotted anything but your story made me grin. Many years ago when my daughter was around 8 (she's grown now) we were all involved in our church Christmas program. On the way home after one of the practices she said "Mom, I've been meaning to ask you...what's a virgin?" I think I...
Do you realize that the number of people using it illegally in this country is astronomical? Yet people like myself who would love to try it for pain can't do so because we are law abiding citizens. Self centered? It's people who oppose it's legalization who are keeping it from the people who...
"Culture of death"...you mean like violent video games that seem to be a key factor in the lives of many (if not most or even all, I haven't researched it I've just noticed it to be common) of the shooters we are now familiar with? I feel like there isn't enough attention being paid to that...
So you think the government is in a better position than you are to decide what treatment is best for you? I live with chronic pain, I don't take my prescribed medications because the side effect are horrible. It's not that they don't work, it's that they are not anything I want to put in my...

I think it's because no matter how hard we try to pretend, we cannot be totally safe. The NSA tried to justify spying on US citizens saying it was for our safety. But that didn't stop the Boston bombers. We can put all kinds of safety measures in place but evil people will always find a way...
That is true but if you have one troubled person who tries to kill a lot of people, the more responsibly armed citizens you have there, the less fatalities that troubled person is going to be able to tally. If a troubled shooter has 12 guns pointed back at him his odds have just diminished.
