    Is OBC closed?

I'm not here defending anyone 8), but I will say that people who are obsessed with WHBC and OBC&I closing really, really do need to get a hobby or find something to do! It's nauseous to see what "Christians" will do/say against another believer/believers. Why not let God decide, and go on with...

    Jack was right!

ok, I had to chime in on this one! This is a topic that "gets my goat."  This could probably start a new thread, but some observations have to me made. 1. What constitutes a "failing" ministry? I am SO SICK of the numbers telling of a "successful" ministry.  Is there no other ruler by which to...

    Calling all Pastors!

And BTW I would think I would never expect my people to do more than myself. I would then be a driver and not a leader.

    Calling all Pastors!

...and we wonder why unfaithfulness abounds in marriages, and children in our churches resent the ministry and our churches! I pastor a church and am the son of a pastor. I'm eternally grateful that my father taught me "balance" and refused to be pressured to "give it all" for the sake of the...

What are the most hypocritical actions by jv and staff?

calling yourself a "shepherd." Obviously they have a warped picture of Jesus Christ, who was the Great Shepherd and lay down His life for the sheep.  Servanthood, humility,  leading by example and not screaming words seems to be a lost art today. It is said that a church takes on the personality...

Far out & unreasonable rules at Christian Schools or Colleges

    1. male students had to keep suit jackets on for evening service at all times. (while 3rd string maintenance staff checked during opening prayer). 2. male students had to wear a belt at all times. I was asked once by the 30ish single maintenance supervisor with a bad combover (I forget his name)...

    Personal meetings with Dr. Hyles

a fellow student "insisted" he take me to meet him my first Sunday as a new student.  (me thinks he was trying to score points). it was really overrated, waited in line for 30 minutes for a handshake. needless to say I never again stood in line :D. He did visit my home church a couple of years...

So close your eyes and tell me.......

I remember the guy walking around the auditorium before and after services with a large scanner of some sort with the antenna fully extended.  Still not clear what that was all about. I think maybe in his mind he was "special detail."
