Twitter is Trump's laser pointer and the socialist liberal democrats are his own personal 'herd of cats'.

Nice pithy statement without any basis in reality. Many Republicans with common sense know that twitter hurts Trump more than it helps him.

And many others know Twitter helps him bypasss the media and often control the narrative.

He has Fox News to control his narrative. The tweets are part of the reason people doubt his stability and mental fitness. Let's review a few examples.

Stating he should have left LiAngelo Ball in jail in China because he didn't think LaVar Ball was grateful

Called LaVar Ball a poor man's version of Don King, but without the hair. Called him an ungrateful fool.

Criticizing both the mayor of San Juan and the Puerto Rican people in the aftermath of the hurricane.

Used a tweet to announce that transgenders could not serve in the military. Even if you agree with the decision that is not the way to make that announcement.  Fact is the military spends more on erectile dysfunction medicine than on medical costs for transgenders.

Actually tweeted all negative polls are fake news.

Tweeted the media were the enemy of the people. Freedom of the press is core to a free country.

After Trump's issues with sexual assault he still tweets The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words. Where do his hands go in pictures 2,3,4,5 and six while she sleeps?

Trump tweeted How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process, This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy.  Never happen.

Trump tweeted Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old", when I would NEVER call him 'short and fat"?

Trump tweeted You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history-led by some very bad and conflicted people! Why would the POTUS be criticizing the US Justice Department publicly? Of course at this point we know the investigation led to arrests.

Trump tweeted When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing. There always playing politics-bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help

Trump tweeted Yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger did a really bad job as Governor of California and even worse on the Apprentice...but at least he tried hard. So this is information that he needed to get directly to the American people?

After perpetuating a fake news story about a terrorist attack in Sweden he tweeted My statement as to what's happening in Sweden was in reference to a story that was broadcast on @FoxNews concerning immigrants and Sweden.

Trump tweeted I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika along with Psycho Joe came to Mar-a-Logo 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no! Is to possible for the President to be anymore juvenile and mean spirited?

Trump tweeted If the ban were announced with a one week notice, the "bad" would rush into our country during that week. a lot of bad "dudes" out there! This was ridiculous post since the "bad" never did rush into our country.

Don't forget the three anti-Muslim videos he tweeted from a British right wing extremist group that had never been validated.

Trump tweeted Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at tje Golden Globes. In the United States we have this thing call freedom of speech so Meryl Streep is allowed to express her opinion but honestly as President you don't gain anything by responding.

Another Trump tweet without any evidence The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!

Trump responds with tweet when criticized by ESPN With Jemele Hill at the mike, it is no wonder ESPN ratings have "tanked", in fact tanked so badly it is the talk of the industry!"

Interesting enough a the judge used a Trump tweet in deciding to leave DACA in place. Judges have used Trump's tweets in rulings before, in cases about the travel ban and his attempt to block transgender troops from enlisting in the military.

You can believe whatever you want Tarheel but the President had demonstrated numerous times that he will tweet personal insults to those who disagree with him and disregard the truth when he tweets.  He is our President and I respect that but it does not change that he is a crass, vulgar and juvenile individual. This is reinforced to people in his tweeting. He would be best served by getting off Twitter IMHO.

There are six  Republicans that need to register as democrats. Its sad we cant all work together but hey at least we have a president that loves and respects police/military.

That is an interesting statement. If the six Republicans had registered as Democrats then most likely they would have voted with the Democrats on tax reform and it would never have passed.

When our representatives vote don't we want them to consider their own conscience and feelings of the voters that elected them? Sometimes we will be happy when votes cross parties or sometimes we are going to be disappointed but do we want every Representative and Senator voting down party lines? I would find it hard to believe that our founding fathers thought every vote should be along party lines.

I find it puzzling that we don't want to have a "large tent" that is inclusive of people who have shared values even if they don't always tow the party line. The "smaller the tent" the less likely the issues that are shared will be become law because it is more difficult to have a majority.  The thoughts on party are the same whether you are a Republican or Democrat.

Trump may love some law enforcement but claims the reputation of the FBI is in tatters-worse in history.  "Suggesting FBI agents are anything but impartial "is simply false" said Thomas O'Connor, president of the FBI Agents Association-a group representing 13,000 active and former special agents-in a statement responding to Trump's tweets.

On December 15, 2017 while speaking to the graduating class at the FBI National Academy Trump was quoted "You are great people doing an incredible job but I hope your families know that. I'd say 90%, probably 90%, are great, right? The other 10%, that's not working out so well."

So we know that Trump doesn't think all law enforcement are great people.

We found out during the campaign that Trump doesn't love all of the folks who have been in the military. Trump belittled the parents of fallen Muslim soldier, Captain Humayn Khan.

Of course he said about John McKain  "He's not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured." While McKain was being tortured Trump was working at his father's real estate office.

In 2004 on Howard Stern's show he boasted about surviving his brave challenges of sleeping around with women who might have sexually transmitted diseases. He was quoted "It's a dangerous world out there-it's scary like Vietnam. It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave soldier."

He has angered members of the military by continuing to call them "my generals" and "my military".

In November Trump accused the former leaders of the CIA, FBI and NSA of being political hacks. Earlier in 2017 Trump compared the CIA to Nazi Germany.

The statement that at least we have a President who loves and respects police/military implies that we have had Presidents in the past who have not respected the police/military. I am not sure who the president(s) was that didn't respect the police/military.

President Obama on July 12, 2016 in Dallas stated "We know that the overwhelming majority of police officers do an incredibly hard and dangerous job fairly and professionally. They are deserving of our respect and not our scorn. And when anyone, no matter how good their intentions may be, paints all police as biased or bigoted, we undermine those officers that we depend on for out safety. And as for those who use rhetoric suggesting harm to police, even if they don't act on it themselves--well, they not only make the jobs of police officers even more dangerous, but they do a disservice to the very cause of justice they claim to promote.

In President Obama's farewell address to the military on January 4, 2017 he said "And I want every American to know what I know, through year after year of continuous military operations, you have earned your place among the greatest generations. The list of accomplishment that Joe (Biden) and Ash (Carter) generously mentioned, they are because of you. It's what I tell my staff, I'm the front man, but you're the ones doing the work.

The White House complicated the effort with mixed signals earlier in the day. President Trump undermined the legislation in a morning tweet that appeared to pan the measure. Later the administration clarified that the president supported the bill.

This is a quote from the LA Times today. Yes, another Trump tweet gone awry. There is also the FISA tweet where he did the same thing.

I?m challenging the biased commentary on the tweet by the LA Times, oh obtuse one.

Afraid I am not the obtuse one on this one. Trump and the GOP agreed that CHIP would be included in the short term bill to avoid the government shutdown. Then Trump tweeted against the re-authorization as part of the package. Sanders had to clarify what Trump was supporting. This was not only covered by the LA Times but numerous news agencies.

Not surprising from at alt-right internet activist, conspiracy theorist. Actually Trump has managed to be the FIRST President to have a government shutdown when his party was in control of both the house and the senate.

Interestingly enough during the 2013 shutdown Trump said the president should always shoulder the blame for a government shutdown.

Just because you are a liberal doesn't mean you have to not think for yourself, and blindly repeat the liberal talking points.

Coming from the left media: https://www.vox.com/platform/amp/policy-and-politics/2018/1/19/16905584/government-shutdown-history-clinton-obama-explained

So... It appears that this liberal media outlet shows there are five shutdowns listed under President Carter when the majority of the House and Senate were Democrat. I know you are going to say they were "funding gaps" since that is what you are now being told, but it's the exact same thing, just the Democrat appointed Attorney General ruled that only essential operations continue during the shutdowns.

How weird is that?

It is actually hilarious to be told I was giving liberal talking points by someone who posted a nonsensical tweet by an alt-right conspiracy theorist ;)

So based on your article there was not a shutdown under Carter.  They did not shut the government down. That is a fact. So even if we agree that the spending gap is the same as a shutdown then you want to compare the current Republican President to a one term President who both Republicans and Democrats will agree was a very good man but a very ineffective President.  Here I am hoping Trump is a one term President that we then can all agree was a very poor President.

I could be wrong but it does appear to me that you chose to pick on things like grammar and use phases like drink the cool aid because that is easier than making a real argument. People can and do disagree without either person drinking anybody's cool aid.

I apologize...  I was unaware that English is not your main language.

Like most liberals, reading comprehension is not their strong suit.  The article clearly states "Shutdown" and they do not even see the word...its invisible... their denial of facts is amazing.  As usual, liberals have to be spoon-fed when they make stupid statements like "So based on your article there was not a shutdown"  and screen shots have to be made to reveal the 8-letter word they are oblivious to.

For those just joining...and apparently for LongGone too, they are the same thing. The only difference is that Carter's Attorney General ruled....forbid... any "non-essential" employee to come to work as they had in the past.  So previous to that ruling, they continued to work, now they can't.  Imagine that...from a Democrat.

So what flavor is it today?  I think grape.....

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/1/19/16911148/government-shutdown-unified-control

The article from Vox clearly states "The government shutdown this weekend is the first true, honest-to-God shutdown has happened with a single party controlling the White House and Congress. It's true that Jimmy Carter and Democrats in Congress butted heads five times in 1977, 1978, and 1979, and couldn't get their act together to fund government (Carter was a bad president!) But that was before Carter's attorney general issued guidance saying that when a funding gap like that exists, government functions must shut down.

This may be hard for an Alt-Right Fascist Conservative to understand but if nothing shuts down it is not a shutdown ;)

I see. So now you pivot from "So based on your article there was not a shutdown under Carter" to but....but...but...but....this other article says it was not a shutdown.

While I appreciate you doing your Bill Clinton impersonation, Stevie Wonder could see what you were trying to prove when you came on here with your verbal diarrhea proclaiming, "Actually Trump has managed to be the FIRST President to have a government shutdown when his party was in control of both the house and the senate" when it is not the case.

Somehow, despite the Government being "shutdown", Obama and his cronies were able to employ government  employees to barricade off national parks and monuments and prevent citizens and visitors from entering.  For being a "shutdown", liberals still seem to get their stupidity financed.  I find it funny that the phones were answered at the IRS and SBA on Monday... guess employees under a Republican administration see the hazard of classifying themselves at "non-essential".

So what flavor is it today?  I am thinking Sharkleberry Fin
