How to Succeed at God's Work

Speaking of success, God blessed us with 29 kids at the Neighborhood Bible Study today.

Readers, God WANTS you to be successful in His work. Grace, spiritual gifts, wisdom, the fear of the Lord, a close attachment to God's Word, abiding in Him, obedience, answered prayers, forgiving, and dealing with tares are some of the tools God gives you for success in His work.

Would you rather succeed by seizing positions God doesn't want you to have? Scorning, speaking evil of the brethren, and judging are some of the tools available for that success. Just remember that you can't have both types of success.

Hello, look at Vince throwing out accusations then ignoring the responses.

No, Ransom, you yourself are an example of a person who has seized a position God doesn't want you to have.

1) What position is that?
2) How do you know God doesn't want me to have it?
3) No such thing.

Nothing new there...the village idiot just continues to affirm it with each post!

Like Romans 2:1, Galatians 5:19-21 is rejected by the majority of the saints. The first two listed are adultery and fornication.

Years ago, FBCH announced that Dave Hyles had been restored. He was therefor excused from obeying the Scriptural commands to right the wrongs he had done and was returned to the ministry. A soul-winning IFB church in my city considered having him as a guest speaker. I was friends with a Godly deacon from that church, and he asked me about it. Quoting Gal.5:19, I made it clear that Dave couldn't be restored, because he was never saved in the first place. Read the passage yourself. Adulterers and fornicators are not saved. Period.

Less than two years later, Dave was back into immorality.

And speaking of tares, T-Bone, you need to spend less time dreaming up insults at God's people, and more time dealing with the fact that you've never been born again. And the fact that other scorners are defending you for committing the same sins they commit doesn't change that.

When you accept Gal. 5:19-21 as true, you find it easier to deal with tares; they're not saved. Period.

Prosperity gospel and Christian perfectionism! What are you going to start teaching next? Arianism?

Well, we know Vince isn't unaware of our posts, as he keeps sniping at us less enlightened boobs. So if he didn't see this, it was out of cowardice rather than genuine ignorance.

Hello Vince . . . Paging Vince.  . .

Why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.

Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

Romans 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Romans 14:12-13 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.  Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

Vince...you are an idiot, that is clear to anyone who has read your tripe. Your judgment is anything but righteous or based iPod discernment...I leave my eternity to my Savior, Jesus. Not to some internet idiot, who has imaginary readers and who is complete disobedience in calling anyone a tare...as the Lord said He would do that...it's not your place.

Yup...you are just like your father, an accuser of the brethren.

He does seem to be degenerating  into deeper stupidity. (if that is even possible)

Readers, Romans 2:1 tells us that you who judge do the same things. I have never juidged anyone on this forum. I have quoted their own accusations and then quoted Romans 2:1.

T-Bone, you continue to describe yourself:

you are an idiot,  Your judgment is anything but righteous .. who is complete disobedience in calling anyone a tare...

Yup...you are just like your father, an accuser of the brethren.

Readers, Romans 2:1 tells us that T-Bone is describing himself. And the fact that the other scorners defend him for committing the same sins they commit doesn't change that.

And now you have shown you are not only an idiot, you are an outright liar...your association with your father is clear!

We have devolved into Pee Wee Herman scriptural interpretation:

"I know you are but what am I?"

Next up:

The abiding truth of "Na na na boo boo"

Scorner, scorner. Pants on a corner. Hang your britches on a joiner.

Back in Galatians 5:19-21, Paul lists "hatred" and "contentions" as two more sins that prove that a person is not really saved.

If you have a long memory, you will recall that this is a series designed to show Christians how to succeed in God's work. Scorners quickly appeared, mocking God's promises and making false accusations. This is evidence of not being a Christian, regardless of the profession of the scorners.

Vince, you better be careful. You sound like you are hopping mad.

Anyone else see the irony here??

Such as, for example, the false accusation, made by you and as yet uncorrected, that I believe Romans 2:1 to be about civil judges?

This is evidence of not being a Christian, regardless of the profession of the scorners.

Well, then, I guess that's all we need to know about you. By your own standards, you are not a Christian, and you are not succeeding at God's work.

Next!

Have not I told you........?

Revelations 21:8 gives us another list by which to identify tares: "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

But many Christians object that King David committed both adultery and murder, and yet he was saved. We should, therefor, reject this verse.

The list includes "all liars," so I want to focus on that. Whom does God consider to be a liar? If an honest person, under fear, tells a lie one time, is he a liar? Or do you have to tell a lot of lies? If so, how many? How serious do the lies have to be?

The answer is given in Revelations 22:15: "But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie." God explains that a person who loves and practices lying is a liar.

Now, there are problems here:
1) God's definition of a liar is someone who loves and practices lying, but God doesn't state that His definition extends no farther.
2) God never extends that definition to murderers, immoral people, etc. On the other hand, God never changes.
3) King David did not love and practice adultery and murder.
4) God brought very heavy public judgement on King David. We're not talking about someone who casually abides in serious sin and professes to be saved.

Yes, you can accept Revelations 21:8 as true, despite what King David did. "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
