The hypocrisy of Vince on this thread is shameful...so much pride for someone who claims humility...so much judgment from someone who's says not to judge. SMH

Romans 2:1 tells us that Balaam is describing himself, and his posts confirm it. He follows along with the other scorners, casting aimless insults that have no connection with reality.

Why?

Wisdom is profitable to direct, but Balaam does not have wisdom. His insults have the accuracy of a windbag.

Hey Vince..here's what you are missing (or at least one thing)... What you write does NOT equate to God's Word!
 
Actually, I am just trying to keep this thread going. Vince thinks that his words will one day be written in a book like 'Mein Kompf' or 'Lectures to my Students'. I am just trying to help a delusional pompous windbag by stroking his ego a little. If this is Vince's life's work then I will by all means help! :)

 
Returning to Psalm 1: "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper."

When I arrived in Mexico, I was afraid that God would no longer use me, because I was 52 years old. But a person who meditates in God's Word always brings forth fruit in its season. Despite your age, your leaf will not wither, and whatever you do will prosper.

The fact that you have left HAC, or that HAC is a disgrace, or that you're no longer in your twenties, does not doom you to failure. If you think on God's Word constantly, He'll bless you with success.
 
We did finally get the definition of success from you, Vince.
And it seems to eminate from your Hylesite roots.
Large audience = God given success.

Last guy I heard push this, was on his way to a 12 year federal prison sentence for devouring Gods lambs.
He seemed to think that large Ass.
O.G. churches were obviously being blessed by God, since they had numbers.
He defended the Nazi Pope, as well, as a "leader of a billion Christians'.

You may want to scorn, judge, and finger-point all things I.B., now, like every-other Ass.O.G. I've ever personally known does, but you sure define success the way that the pedophile-cult-IFB does.

Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 1 both tell us that God gives success to people who meditate frequently on His Word.

Psalm 119:15-16 tells us "I will meditate on Your precepts, And contemplate Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word."

Folks, you cannot succeed in meditation if you do not take a strong inward and outward stand for God's Word. If you reject God's Word in favor of your own opinions, the blessings of meditation are not for you.l

It would seem apparent here that you are setting yourself up as the guru for success and blessings. Thanks for bestowing a little of your profound wisdom with the rest of us peons Oh Great One! You are a hacker to a tee!
 
As is usually the case with success, the blessings of God that come from meditation are not available for scorners.

Joshua 1:8 states that having something in your mouth besides God's Word, such as scorning, speaking evil of the brethren, judging, etc., is the opposite of the meditation that gives success.

Psalm 1 lists three opposites of the meditation that brings success, and sitting in the seat of the scornful is one.

But if you frequently spend time thinking on God's Word, you are guaranteed to have success in His work.

We have seen that success in God's work comes from grace, using your spiritual gifts, obtaining wisdom, and holding tightly to God's Word.

Another way to succeed in God's work is to forgive.

Matthew 6 tells us "14"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Mark 11 tells us "25 "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. 26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."
 
Jesus tells a bizarre story in Matthew 18 that has an even more bizarre ending.

A servant (who pictures you and me) cannot possibly pay the debt he owes the King. So the King forgives him. The forgiven servant then meets a fellow servant who ow4es him 100 days' wages. He grabs him by the throat and demands justice. The second servant pleads for mercy, and the first servant refuses. The King then hands the first servant (That's you and me) over to the torturers until he pays his debt.

Then Jesus explains:

"34 And his master was angry, and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that was due to him.
35 "So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive his brother his trespasses."

We'll be here a while, and there are three things you need to notice:

1) The second servant DID ask for mercy--not everyone who wrongs you will do that.
2) The second servant did not ask for mercy until the first servant confronted him.
3) Jesus used the word "trespasses" to refer to the second servant's debt. In other words, the second servant had done something wrong to the first servant, and Jesus agreed that it was wrong.
4) The punishment for not forgiving applies to "each of you" who does not forgive.

Joshua 1:8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

It seems you have to do all that is written in the book of the law to be prosperous and have success according to your verse. I don't see where you are guaranteed to have success in His work in the verse.

What is success in His work?
