How to Succeed at God's Work

Psalm 81:10 gives a surprising verse on getting prayers answered "I am the LORD your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it."

You're allowed to ask  big prayers. Driving home on an icy night, a Christian prays for God to get him safely through a dangerous intersection, and He does. A few minutes later, a wife-beating drunk drives safely through the same intersection. Many Christians think that those are the biggest pryers that God answers.

But you can ask for healings, converts, a good job, a successful Sunday School class, good health, wisdom, success in God's work, etc. God is neither selfish nor poor--He'll give you BIG answers to prayer.
 
These prosperity teachers are cute with their vending machine sky gods. :)

You are like your father...an accuser of the brethren... I challenge you to be straight forward and point out my sinful post and any where that I have supported blasphemy... If you cannot then you need to repent of your false accusations.
 
Psalm 145:19 tells us "He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them."

As with many of God's promises of blessing, fearing the Lord produces blessings that overlap other promises.

"By the fear of the Lord, men depart from evil." We have seen that obedience produces answered prayer, and the fear of the Lord motivates saints to obey Him.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom," and "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Knowledge." The fear of the Lord is actually a basic step in the Christian life; it is the beginning of other virtues that lead to success.

Rejecting the fear of the Lord is also a key to failure. Scorners don't fear the Lord--if they did, they would depart from evil instead of defending it. As a result, they lack both wisdom and knowledge (which we've seen from other Scriptures) and they do not get their prayers answered (which we have also seen from other Scriptures). People who advance boldly into sin aren't going to have their prayers answered. You'll find them blaspheming and taking a public stand defending blasphemy, but you won't find them getting their prayers answered.

Just as a suggestion, you may want to call Scooby Doo and  the gang to help you find your obviously misplaced sense of humor.
 
Yet another way to obtain the blessings of God for success in His work is to fear the Lord. The doctrine that the fear of the Lord refers to reverential awe is so common that even many commentaries teach it. But the Hebrew and Greek words translated "fear" mean "fear." While acknowledging that this error is common, I have also noticed that among those whom God is not blessing, it is universal.

The fear of the Lord is actually a basic requirement for spiritual success, and it leads to other sources of success. Proverbs 1:7 tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

You post blasphemy and slander, and when confronted by the person you slandered, you say it was a joke? And then you turn to scorn?

The scorners who have posted in support of your sin didn't say anything about a joke. I saw blasphemy and a lie, but I didn't see a joke.

I'm going to give you some good advice, and in light of your last two posts, you need it:

1) Evil communications corrupt good manners. When you work with scorners, you become like them.
2) When you learn from a scorner, you learn from a person whom God refuses to give wisdom to.
3) When you support a scorner, you are helping someone whom God resists.
4) When you respect a scorner, you respect a person whom God scorns.

Blasphemy and slander? Dude, loosen the bone some. You are wound up way too tight. In what way did I slander you?

It was a joke because there is 1) no way you could kick the Spirit out of the Trinity, and 2) because there is no way on earth that you could know who "seized a position that wasn't theirs."

Readers, when 4you came in with blasphemy, Balaam did not defend him. Balaam is not a blasphemer (He uses profanity, but is not a blasphemer).

And when 4you used slander, Balaam did not defend him. (Balaam's false accusations are based on seeing his own sins in other people, but he really does believe them).

It wasn't until I showed from Scripture that 4you was acting like a madman that you defended him.

Earlier, we had seen that because scorners will not submit to God's commands not to scorn, He will not give them humility. The fear of the Lord, on the other hand, makes a Christian hate the pride and evil speaking of scorners.

Readers, when you see a scorner taking a public stand in defense of blasphemy and slander, you're seeing a person who does not fear the Lord.
