Refuting Calvinism

Recovering IFB said:
um,no. Jesus said no one can come to Me unless it is granted him by the Father. It takes God to change our heart because we were spiritually dead. If it wasn't for God's grace we would chose not to worship him. Our free will is only choosing to sin.

And once the Father begins to draw that person;  that person has to make the CHOICE to believe the Gospel.

A person still can choose to believe the Gospel or he can choose to reject the Gospel.

Are we "refuted" yet?

This thread should have been called "rebutting Calvinism," but of course Bibleburner didn't know that. There's an inverse proportional relationship between one's knowledge of the English language and the intensity in which he will attempt to defend a certain English translation of the Bible. (The most ignorant English speakers always presume to speak with the most authority about matters they know nothing about.)

can you provide your Scriptural evidence for this position?

Believe that your unmatched left argyle sock will bring you a rainbow of unicorn gifts from magical bald cross-dressing midgets.

Try it.  I bet you can do it.  After all, you can choose to believe something of your own free will.

IMO, all of Biblebummer's threads should be moved to either the Cal/Arm or Bible Versions forums where we can more easily ignore them.

I concur.  Otherwise, what is the use of having the other forums.  Some argue "Nobody reads those forums, so I posted it here, instead."  Well, gee, maybe no one is INTERESTED in those forums, except for a select few...

True.  And few people are interested in watching Biblebummer's foam at the mouth, no matter what the topic.  ;)

Sad commentary, isn't it? The inane idea that something from YouTube will silence all objections, is an idea that can come only from someone who lets YouTube do his thinking for him . . .

Luke 13:2-6Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilæans were sinners above all the Galilæans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.

John 1:9-14 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

What's wrong, don't like it when your heresy is exposed for what it really is?

Too bad. Get used to it.

Well, you got us there.  Calvinists don't believe in repentance, or receiving Jesus.

Bwahahahahahaha.... get an IQ.

The video with brother Andrian Rogers and the brief teaching he did, already silenced you all in terms of rebuttal. How do I know that? Because not one of you have refuted what he said. That's because you can't.

You dumb hard shelled, proud, calvinists were reufted already in the O.P.

Don't you Calvinist just hate it when you are "reufted".  I know I personally hate being "reufted" ...and I am not even a Calvinist.  :o 8)

If repentance is not necessarily a matter of free will, then what was your point in quoting that scripture?

Wait - I know - you have no point.  Except that you can copy and paste stuff.
