Proverbs 9:10 tells us ""The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One  is understanding."

We have seen that the fear of the Lord is a basic attribute: it is the beginning of knowledge and includes a rejection of sin. Here we see that it is the beginning of wisdom. A person who does not fear the Lord not only lacks wisdom, but doesn't even have the beginning of wisdom.

Elsewhere, we had seen that a scorner has no wisdom and that God will not give him wisdom if he seeks it. Because wisdom is profitable to direct, giving it to a person who does not eschew evil is too dangerous.

Psalm 111:10 repeats "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..." and this leads us to an obscure verse.

Have you ever seen a Christian who is really active in God's work, but years later is doing nothing? Isaiah 33:6 explains what might have happened: "Wisdom and knowledge will be the stability of your times, And the strength of salvation; The fear of the LORD is His treasure."

The fear of the Lord produces wisdom, which produces other virtues. Wisdom and knowledge then produce stability.

At HAC, we were whooped up by shouting, yelling, exhortation, awards, and promotions. But within several years of graduation, less than half those students were even attending church. The fear of the Lord produces the qualities that give a Christian the stability to keep serving God as the years and decades roll by, long after the hooplah is gone.

There is no question that the scorners on this thread are not disciples of Christ. Their lack of love and failure to bear much fruit are evident. But are they unsaved?

We were taught at HAC that if you prayed and meant it, you were saved, no matter how wicked your life was afterwards. But the Scriptures teach that the new birth MUST produce a changed life. But the Scriptures also teach that scorning fouls up your spiritual life, so it's difficult to tell.

Jesus taught that people who reject God's Word aren't from God. But because they are being confronted with a large number of promises from God's Word that don't apply to them, the scorners contempt for His Word can be explained away.

The Scriptures also teach that if you hate the brethren, you are not a child of God. But the scorners have always gone into rage when someone confronts their sin. I'm the first person in the history of the FFF to refuse to back down to them, so their long-term rage could be explained away.

Readers, I have often pointed out that God will not permit a scorner to have wisdom. T-Bone has clearly identified himself as a person who is not born again, and he isn't acting much different than the others.

Yet you still haven't answered direct questions that involve your false accusations...you just continue to vomit your inane tripe.  You are just like your father, making accusations without proof and not backing up your statements.  Now as far as wisdom is concerned...if you are an example of someone who has wisdom...I will pass on that dung!

Well, Readers, it doesn't do any good to explain God's Word to scorners, so I'll explain it to you.

In the parable of the wheat and the tares, the tares grew, thrived, prospered, withered, failed, and succeeded the same as the wheat. You couldn't tell the difference until they bore fruit. But then you COULD tell the difference.

It was the servants, not the elders, bishops, pastors, teachers, prophets, etc., who realized that they had raised tares with the wheat.  Nothing could be done until the harvest, however, and the tares were allowed to stay with the wheat, causing harm and loss, until they were gathered to be burned.

We were taught at HAC that no matter ow much wicked fruit a person bore, if he had prayed for salvation, he was saved. It isn't true. The Bible teaches that the new birth MUST produce a changed life. The Scriptures also teach that the spreading of the Gospel produces both wheat and tares. When you see a "Christian" living a wicked life, you can be sure that he was never born again.

Like most Christian virtues and promises, the fear of the Lord is not for scorners. Proverbs 8:13 tells us "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate."

Remember that by the fear of the Lord, men depart from evil, and that it is an elementary virtue. When you fear the Lord, you hate an evil mouth.

Now Readers, I appreciate the fact that so many of you have stuck with this thread through all the scorn. But you do realize that the fear of the Lord ends neutrality--you can learn from this thread and ignore the scorners (and the hit count shows that most of you do) but you do have to hate their evil ways if you fear the Lord.
